Dumb as it is, I don't think it's an error. I just think there is nobody in the neopets office that actually looks at the ads before they make it to the site. I'm sure it was intended to be a vertical ad, and to stretch the page, and maybe even to get posted as a screenshot. How many more people have now seen that ad because it was posted here? Kind of increases their advertising views, doesn't it.
I'm not saying TNT knows that these ads are there, and supports them intentionally, but by not checking the content and size, it isn't just an error in coding.

I don't know if it is an error or not, but the ads do odd things every once in a while. Like when 2 banner ads show up, stacked on top of each other. Doesn't happen often, but it does. I would think in this particular case, given the size of the ad, that it is some kind of glitch.

As to posting as a ss increasing ad views, well it wouldn't, would it? It's a ss hosted somewhere else. There's no ad tracking cookie to go with it, so no "hit" for that (or any other ad that has been ss'd).

In all seriousness what most likely was supposed to have happened is that the banner seen in the screenshot was supposed to have gone on THIS page.

That pages is full of ads, including vertical ones. A staff member verifying the ads probably chucked it in the wrong folder so it appeared at the top every hundred clicks or so instead of just being rotated through the ads on the shop of offers.

Don't worry, the apocalypse is not here just yet, it was just a banner in the wrong rotation

Meh, I've got much bigger fish to fry as far as bad ads go - and I've never seen that particular ad.

You know, I forgot about the shop of offers, I guess because I never go there. Pop ups for what, 50 or 100 np? I'll pass.

I've seen that ad a couple times.

Is it still happening then?! Oh dear!!
