I'm systematicaly trying time with my first pet. (Which caught a Mossy Rock, btw) If it IS timed, I can say that it's not every 5 minutes. (Or less) I'm about 5 minutes away from 10 minutes, and I'm going to keep testing until I either catch something, or someone figures the out 'catch rate'.

*Edit* Nope, not 10 either. Time to go for 15.

It will probably be every 12 or 24 hours, since that's the way it is with TYS and.. um.. other things..? :I

i got a level up when i caught a drift wood and and a waterfish. I honestly think that you cant get this avatar untill your actually to a certain level where you can actually catch big things. Because think about it. You cant really bring in a big squid when youve first tried fishing. You can only catch little stupid things when you first start. But when you get better and better you get bigger and better things.

It's been more than an hour now. Tried it and it didnt work. I'll keep it updated.


EDIT: 2hrs and nothing

Oh boy a new daily! I was hoping Maraqua would have one. And I bet it is a daily, rather than hourly etc, because it's free and you always get an item. Just makes sense.

Such talented fishermen! And no level ups.

I think you have to catch a squid?

Maybe you have to reach a certain level to get the avatar.

do the items get better as the level goes up or are they random??

It's been about an hour and my first pet was able to get another item but not the rest yet.

Oh and my pet upped a level when they caught the Giant Red Kelp.

My hope is that the avatar will be hard to get.

I think the avatar will take awhile to be discovered. I think the skill level judges the type of fish you will catch. I say that because, everyone is catching the low level fishes. and everyone has a low level.

Maybe by the time we reach 100, we will be able to get the Giant squids, and other rare fish. I hope we don't get this avvie at level 5, I want this one to be a little challenging, like the one where you have to feed the cat-like Petpets.

I have a left sandle and a rigght sandle so I think that rules out having to get a pair of something

I'm still thinking it has to do with what level you are on anyone past 2?

It's been about three hours, I think. It let me try with my first pet again -- we caught a green kelp thing and increased to level 2. It won't let me try with my other pets, though.
