FINALLY! I'VE MADE A DISCOVERY!!

WHOA! I was totally not expecting a new mutant when I went to check out all the grey grundo poses.

I didn't like it at first, and I still find it too ferocious looking for a mutant (like pretty much ALL mutants now), but...I can't resist anything that oozes green stuff. I'm glad the slime shows up in the circle pose, and the beaten pose is brilliant. He's just a big, spiny bag of snot! In my ultra-picky mutant tastes, it is acceptable.

But the question is, is it a belated mutant day offering or will there be a rash of new mutants?

As for the Draik, I hate draiks, so the fact that it isn't a redraw can't help but be bad in my eyes.

Image

Moving onto the Faerie, it's OK, I suppose, but nothing magic. Draik redraws can turn out to be some of the best colours on the site, but this only has the elements of a good Draik colour, and it just doesn't click together for me. Mutant remains the number one Draik for me, joint with Maraquan.

Image

And the Grey Grundo is only reminding me of how crap the Grundo Revamp was.

A lot of the faerie pets do look female but I think most if not all mutant pets look male, and some of the robot and tyrannian pets look male too.

Maybe they could make a male and female version of all the colours, like they have with Usuki.. I'd like to see male Faerie pets :P

Someone suggested that idea before. Let's take it into account:

There are 48 different Neopet species.

There are ABOUT 65 different colours, not including Royal and Usuki/Quiguki, and the basic colours (red, yellow, blue, and green).

Now I'm not at ALL good at math, but I'm going to give it a shot:

48 species
x65 colours
-------------
3,120 Pets that can be painted.
x2 (<- male and female)
------------
The artists would have to draw 6,240 images that would show male
and female Neopets being...diffferent. I don't know how to put it in words.

Like I said, I have no skill in math whatsoever, but I know that, whether I'm right or wrong, that making male and female versions of all of the colours for all of the pets is out of the question. ^^;;

Grrr..
The mutant Tonu looks quite awesome, I especially like the spikes. The slime I'm not too sure about..

Image

The faerie Draik is nice too..though a bit small (then again, I guess it has to be to fit those wings in..). I think it could be either male or female.
Though I agree that maraquan and mutant still remain the best two Draik colors in my opinion :)

I like the faerie draik... Thinking about painting mine faerie now. I think it looks quite androg (Naa. I can't spell that word tonight :)) But I actually think it looks more male. It's got boyish charm. Which is good since my draiks a tomboy. She wants to be Batman.

As for the mutants looking male. Well my buzz is a mutant. But she's female. Yet everyone thinks shes a male... But who cares? :P She's just an angry little buzz who hangs out with the men...

There can also be feminate men. Whats wrong with that? Pink can be a good colour... !

Also. I've allways wanted neo to have male Faeries. But not beefy man faeries with bolt guns and tanks. Just, male faeries. Who ride peophins and wear pink! Ok I'm joking about the peophins...

Heh... Watch out Art Gallery... Male faeries commin up! Now what would I be Earth? Air? Dark? Hmm... :o

Don't tell Tonu that. His Ona Faerie is male, although I do remember him saying at one point that being a faerie, it could still look a little girly.

But honestly, I don't see why there can't be male faeries - nor do I see why male faeries (if they existed) would have to be girly. I mean, there are plenty of male faeries in literature (just look at Oberon and Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream) and I wouldn't call either of them girly. Especially not Oberon.

But anywho... I think the best answer would be to release a male counterpart to the faeries when they release the other side of Neopia. Something like... the djinn (genies) perhaps. And not the Barbara Eden I Dream of Genie sort either.

So there could be a Fire, Air, Water and Earth Genie, a Battle Genie, a Space Genie, a Tooth Genie (hehehe - had to put that one in, sorry) and, of course, the mighty Genie King or Sultan or something.

Or... they could just release non-effeminate male faeries :D

If I remember right LONG ago. Before Baltazar was a lupe, he was the only male faerie. Since that looked messed up(male faerie) they go and make him a faerie hating lupe.

I saw a petpage made just for male faerie Baltazar. He didn't look like faerie, mind you, but more of a person (ok, like Puck) from a Mid summer night's dream. Shirt-less, had the plant crwn, shorts, and evil eyes. :o

Faerie Buzz, dispite being purple with some pink in them, still make more think boy then girl, since Buzz have a natural male look to them. Which I why I loved when my pet was one....then Maraquan Buzz came out. -.-

Guess Draiks only get Spotted and Faerie for their pet day. Faerie is still tiny, in my eyes.

Creepy, I never knew of a male faerie, being that they turned him into Balthazar seems to be saying something. :P

The slime is pretty much the only reason I like it. Without the slime, it'd just look tyrannian or Darigan.

I adore mutant, but to me, it should NOT look ferocious. It should look weird and gross. We have other colors for "ferociousness". The best mutants are the ones that look decrepit and "sad", like the Blumaroo and Moehog.
