No, vulgarities do not hurt, in the sense of the word, but they do reflect on the culture and upbringing of the person using them. The reason why they are banned in many forums (especially those which are frequented by children) is because we do not want to pollute the minds of the young, not because it will cause them mental and emotional torment

Of course, there are also people who are offended by vulgarities and the meanings they imply, so that is another reason why they are banned. Happy?
