No, vulgarities do not hurt, in the sense of the word, but they do reflect on the culture and upbringing of the person using them. The reason why they are banned in many forums (especially those which are frequented by children) is because we do not want to pollute the minds of the young, not because it will cause them mental and emotional torment Of course, there are also people who are offended by vulgarities and the meanings they imply, so that is another reason why they are banned. like waht someone said before, in certain religions, those words are considered to be very volatile. heavily religous people will explode if they see or hear them sometimes.

we know theyre just words, we know they would mean the same if the harshness of using them was lessened. it all depends on your upbringing. my father and mother are christian, im not. im more of an atheist, and i say those words whenever I want, and how often I want. but I do control myself. all I said were vulgarities in fourth grade ( i lived in a bad neighbourhood, and plus I was small ) and in fifth grade, it dawned on me of how much an idiot I was.
