Here is a hint that may save you time (I have submitted my answer by the way): use Excel spreadsheet.

i just can't figure this out. i did find out that the correct name for a three-sided pyramid is a tetrahedron, so maybe that will help somebody out.

k heres my though, i took the number of kikos multiplied by 2 since they all get 2 marbles, divided by 3 since theres 3 sides, thats 700,207 on each side and one at the top. now assuming thats the case... how can i figure out how many levels 700k marbles take?!?!?

Remember to consider that marbles are round, so they'd sink into each other a little bit. To get it to the maximum height (as it's asking for the maximum height they can get), you'd make the sides of the marbles touch- and then rest the others ontop. It'd indent a little, but not much- you could probably do it with a diagram... pretty hard to do, I'd say, but it's definately a factor.

id think that the pyramid would have to have marbles inside and not be hollow in order to stand....

The question actually said height of each level is 2 cm, so this is irrelevant. I got an answer betweeen 400-500 cm too.
