On the contrary, I feel it isn't too difficult, it only requires basic math. It's the conversions which are so confusing... especially if you don't use the US system of measurement.

I don't use the US system of measurement, either ... I converted everything to metric. :)

I might be off on my answer, though. Still deciding what should be right. :)

sigh. I've found the error in my calculation. The site I looked at had the wrong conversion factor for one of the steps. :(

So my conversion from hogshead to a typical unit of volume was incorrect. :(

Oh well. There's always next week.

This probably explains why I'm doing so poorly in physics, but I can't figure out where to factor in the density of the liquid, or if that needs to be considered at all. o_O

Don't worry about density per-se . . . think of it as weight per volume, since the kips are a measure of weight.

Thanks, I think I got it. :)
*crosses fingers*

You know, I never knew there were so many units...

well, Qanda and I got the same answers... so if we're wrong, we're both wrong... but I'm going to 'disappear' for a while to watch a movie...

Hint: All the strange names are actual standards!

Yep, I'll agree with a 3-digit answer.

Waait, a kip isn't a measure of weight, it's a measure of force. Are we supposed to presume Earth's gravity? Or is Neopia's gravity listed somewhere? Are you leaving the constant 'g' in your answer?

i source I found listed it as both.. so I used the weight. Besides, it doesn't make sense (in this case) to fill a box with an amount of force... where it would to fill it with, say, an amount of pounds of a substance.

check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conversion_of_units .. you'll find kip both in Mass and Force sections ... but as mentioned above, mass makes most sense.

That was pretty easy I think - once I realised that those were actual real... thingies lol I'd never heard of any of them!

Still I probably made a dumb mistake somewhere and got it wrong :p Could someone PM me to check the answer?
