I don't mean to sounds rude or anything, but can't we just post hints the normal, conventional way?

All that's happening now is the lurkers are coming out, sorry, but it's true. If you aren't online, it takes those who usually solve it with a hint longer. The neoboards usually manage to obtain it anyway.

It's been like this for the longest time, and personally, I don't see why it should be any other way.

I agree with Pixa. After the first short bit who get the item, the prize is only a couple hundred neopoints anyway. This thread is to help people solve the problem, not be secretive and selective with who gets hints.

I would appreciate it if the secretive hints and hint begging stops. It's alright if someone asks for another hint because they are stuck, but several posts asking for more hints to be PM'd is a bit much.

Although I have already submitted my answer I am still torn! I have that nagging feeling! Probably kick myself!

ok if you want hints plastered all over then next time i will keep it to myself and a couple people here i trust. i didnt even have to tell anyone but i thought it would be nice to share here. i just didnt want 2 np because lurkers saw the hints. so next time i wont do it because i dont like posting hints on a bored everyone can see. i found it so i think i have a right to decide if hints to it are sent privetly. i cant belive you guys are complaining.

The hints have been posted a ton of times before, and you know what, unless it's a super easy conundrum, I've often gotten a good pay when I solve the conundrum. You do realize that a ton more people visit the neoboards than here, and we know how reliable the neoboards are.

I found the place the line is derived from. But is it just me, or did they skip a pet from the line up (between the lenny and the meerca).

Perhaps there is logic in what should be skipped, but I guess that's where I'm stuck.

If I just count 38 from the start, I get an answer that makes sense. But skipping that one pet from the initial line up has me confused.

Can anyone help me? Those who have solved it know I'm on the right track and I've done much of the work already.

yeah that's right, just don't post period. it's honestly selfish if you post that you've got it and then leave without a hint...the LC and MP aren't about how much NP you get from the payout, it's how much fun you have solving it or trying to solve it. And when we have NO chance of solving it because it's super hard, we don't enjoy it at all, and it makes it worse knowing that someone can very well help point everyone in the right direction with a simple hint and a little generosity (though it never took much in the past for people to post a hint - I think it's a pretty undisputed topic). how can you tell the difference between lurkers and non-lurkers? you very well could have PM'ed the hint to lurkers and not have known the difference...post count isn't a definate indication, because I know personally that I have a small post count but it doesn't mean I'm going to take everything here and spam it all over the neoboards. sure posting hints here may been seen by lurkers, but isn't it worth the risk? I think the countless times we've posted hints and helped YOU no matter how much you deny it deserve a little credit. so just...think before you act next time. please.

that's my 2 cents...I can't stand to see people act this way. I'm sorry if I offended anyone but...it just seems really unfair to me the way this thread went this round.
