Yes, it's funny that it's such an obvious thought and yet it eludes them.. :)

You're so... idealistic. Get into the real world. You try and sit down and go through every one of the thousands of e-mails that Support gets. People who have been unfairly frozen, people who have been fairly frozen, people who lost items to a glitch, people who didn't loose an item to a glitch.

Go get a job at Neopets, go through EVERY e-mail, fix EVERY one of the problems you are sent and THEN you can complain.

:P naughty you, double post! Anyway, I fully agree with you. If I was unfairly frozen, I would be smurf off... but I think that I would understand if I didn't get unfrozen after sending in an error report.

It's just a game. Why do you stress over what I do?

They changed the colour of my pet. That might seem laughable to people but I was a fresh little innocent guy who just loved my pet and I was devastated. And that of course started off on the greed thing because now I had to make 3-40.000 np to get a paintbrush to get my pet back. That was a huge sum for me. Later on I got much more np and then they cleaned out my bank even though I did nothing wrong. And then they froze my account, but by then I had done something wrong. I'm no saint, but this isn't about my story anyway. That's how it started, because I had a grudge against neopets. But the petition is much more now, general things that affect everyone. My inbox is full of emails from people and most of them agree with me and thank me for making them aware of some of these things (I in turn have to thank pinkpt for making me aware Smile )
I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but as far as I can tell nothing in the petition is a lie, nothing is wrong. It's just a matter of some people accepting the state of neopets and some not.

Wow, you just MAJORLY contradicted yourself there. Who are you, going around preaching about how, "It's just a game" and how, "We shouldn't care" when you yourself wrote out an entire petition about how "evil and dangerous" neopets has become? If it's truely just a game... then why are you going through all of this? On top of that, why did you mention heart-ache and sorrow in regards to your own account? Sorry, but something's fishy here, and that fish is YOU!

Real world also dictates the laws of Supply and Demand.. I demand that Neopets supply more support for players!

Yes, if I lived in the California area, I would try and get a job doing nothing but reading the support emails and shunting them to the proper staff.. and replying to those that are simply questions or suggestions that would improve a site that I once had a fondness for.. As I can't and don't, I feel I have a right to a response when I email and then snailmailing them concerning an account that was wrongfully frozen.

Before you ask, I have done jobs where my responsibility was to provide support to people who called in concerning products that they had bought.. whether or not they had a service contract. I know exactly what going through those emails would entail and I know full well that it could be done and in a timely and polite manner.. if they'd hire the staff to do it.

I'm thinking that the premium will fail unless they vastly improve this one point. No one will pay for something that is going to glitch up most of the time and "freeze" you the rest.

Amazing what one can come up with when one is given a cardboard box and a roll of duct-tape!

Hmm, I don't understand what the contradiction is really. I always use the "it's just a game" defense because people always use the "it's just a game" offense. I don't care if it's just a game, I had some things I wanted to say so I said them. It is still just a game of course, just because I wrote that whole thing doesn't mean I lie awake at night with a tormented soul. I'm a reasonable fast writer, I didn't slave over that thing for weeks :)
There was a time when neopets wasn't just a game to me. When I loved my pet and I thought it was a great place and all that. But they squashed that pretty good. Now I don't care, which makes me free to do things like this.

If Disney paid me then I'd be happy to go through every neopets email. I would even be kind enough to reply to them even if it was just a "sorry can't help you" thing. How exactly do you think I could fix the problems? Where should I send my application?

Well, i was going through the Employment form, and it had a list of jobs which they were hiring.

Quote:
We are seeking E-Mail Support Representatives to work in our team of over 80 full-time professionals

They have over 80 people working for them? I thought someone said it was 30?

And plus, they are looking to hire people...but do you ever think that no one is applying for the job? That they are short-staffed? And they would aprreciate if someone would come and work for them...

Maybe we are being naive and saying that Neopets should spend advertisement money on more staff, but in reality, they are trying to spend money on staff but no one wants to work for them...

Maybe the wages they offer are crummy.... It costs a lot to live in the Southern California area -- take it from me, I'm a San Diego native (although I was born in the LA area, not far from Glendale.)

Why bother? The Neopets Team won't have the time to respond. They'll be working on something. And the only reason they're being constantly down, is because they're merging with a company. ((This could be a bad or good sign))

I totally agree with you on when Adam Powell and Donna owned the site, no ads. Of corse they want money. They need money to pay for the site. ((But, they could of used Neopets.tk)) And the whole Adam Powell bashing, is just WRONG.

I don't care about Premium Neopets, you shouldn't either. If you don't want the people who get Premium Neopets to get better features, well, your pretty much greedy yourself. Do you want everything at your fingertips? Why not EARN it? For whoever is complaining about the people getting it easy and shouldn't be. That's not your business.

Although, I DO agree with you one one thing, TNT shouldn't be wasting their times on tours. The should be HELPING the people who lost items or NP.

But hey, it's their site.

Umm, they owned the site for about 6 months out of the 4 (5?) years that Neopets has been out. They started in Sept. 1999 and Doug Dohring purchased the site and made Neopets, Inc. in February of 2000 (when I joined!) So there were no ads when Doug owned it either... until now. It's not the owners that made them need money, it's the size of the site and then number of users.

Doug just made the first sponsor of $50 mil. You do survey's because of him. Its interesting to see Adam making Powlex and its on the Neodaq:

http://info.neopets.com/presskit/press09a.html

You'll find that three quarters of the execs do the sponsor stuff.

Save the trees! Don't do homework!

Actually Doug C. Dohring, a marketing executive, bought Neopets.com from Adam and Donna in November 1999. He incorporated it into Neopets, Inc., in February 2000. It was turning a profit within 3 months.

His main business objective has always been the marketing aspect, hence his creation of the Immersive Advertising concept, which is patent-pending. His career has always involved marketing of some sort. He owns Dohring Co., as well as OpinionSurveys.com. You can find other background information on him (some of it pretty interesting) by searching on Google on all forms of his name, such as Douglas Dohring, Doug Dohring, Douglas C. Dohring, and Doug C. Dohring.

Actually advertising has been part of the site since May 2000, when Dohring brought in his first sponsor. Reference: http://info.neopets.com/presskit/articl ... nline.html

An interesting interview with Dohring included this fascinating comment:

Quote:
The purchase of the NeoPets site (http://www.neopets.com) from the bored British college student who invented it was just another business move based on recognizing a good idea, he said. "We run things like businesses," he said. "It doesn't matter what the product is."

Well that's even better. Donna and Adam never really owned the site, so saying it was ad-less when they owned it is incorrect.

Nice research, I might add.
