Read on neocolors' forum that that pic is a bad example of Bori and that it's usually on all fours.

Still cute, but it on the hind legs seems weird.

It sorta makes sense that it'd be on all fours... I guess.

At the very least, to me, there's nothing about it's hindlegs that says they're built for jumping. They remind me more of the Yurble than the Zafara.

o_O

I don't think I made any sense just then.

well it is strangly zafara like, especially the tail and how it stands.. I think the tip of the tail is beautifully done but it's a bit too thin at the bottom (wouldn't have enough muscle to support it lol needs to be way thicker). The ears, tufts of hair and face are wonderful they seem very detailed and cute. The stance is pretty good it seems to have quite a bit of a tummy though (also if it did have a tummy the lump would be lower down so i'm not quite sure what it has). The legs would probably have to be a big bigger (esepecially the far one) to support a body that size. The thing i don't like though is the non-pointing hand the whole paw looks strangly 2-dimensional so that you can't tell if it's beckoning towards you or is telling you to stop or what?(also it's disproportionate to the thin shoulder) as to the pointing hand it's too thin at the bottom and then thickens towards the end but that's not too bad. near the claws there's a strange curve in the hand and i'm not quite sure why they did that. the err spikes? (little ball like things running down the back) take away from the effect in my opinion since in the upper back they're too big and towards the tail they end in kind of a weird spot but maybe's that's just me.. (perosnally i think they should get rid of the claws and back things to make it more kangarooish since it has a very kangaroo-ish face)

You do have to remember, though, that this isn't going to be the standard Bori image. It's a pose they used for the promotion. As Armi said, it's been pointed out that the Bori's normal pose will be on all fours, which I think will generally negate the similarities between it and the Zafara.

I mean, even now, after looking at it for a while, the only thing that even remotely reminds of a Zafara is the tail.

And yea, in this pose it is vaguely kangaroo-like, but once again, it's just a case of the pose. The Bori is, apparently, supposed to be an armadillo-inspired pet, hence the plates (not spikes) on its back and the claws (presumably used for digging).

Hopefully, though, it won't be too long before TNT posts the proper Bori images. That way we can see what it's going to look like 99% of the time.

Ugh.

Apparently, you'll need to have the toolbar to get the Bori.

I knew this would happen one day, and it sickens me. Majorly.

The pet itself isn't even that good - a Zafara with a shell slapped on.

urgh...one more step towards the door I go...

It doesn't bother me. Their bandwith costs have to be through the roof, they have to pay for that, artists and staff members so on and so on. Everyone complains and complains and complains about how "Neopets has sold out!" and blah blah blah, but no one seems to think about the cost. And it's a big cost. Neopets is a free site (Unless you choose to pay for premium neopets, although it's not required) and things like this keep it that way.{/rant}

No, if you read it properly, it says that downloading the toolbar gives you a chance to get a Bori before anyone else. To me, that means they'll eventually make it possible to get them some other way... but if you want one early, you've gotta download the toolbar.

Edit: Dittos Meowth!

I know what you mean, but supposedly you don't need the toolbar to get the Bori -- you need the toolbar to be among the first to get a Bori.

On the other hand, if to get a Bori without the toolbar you have to do something like get a Boriegg in a random event, or buy a Bori Matriculation Potion, or happen to get one of the 113 released that month, or take a Baby Space Fungus into the Volcano -- in other words, if the advantage of the toolbar is more substantial than just how soon you can get a Bori -- then I may need a barf bag myself.

I don't really like it painted ice. It takes out all the colour from it.

It does look like an armadillo. I like it quite a bit more like that than in the toolbar page image. Though I would call that more of an Ice PB look... when I pictured "Frozen" I started thinking about the frozen skeleton in NQ:

Image

I imagined a Bori encased in ice, rather than a Bori made of ice.

I think in some of the normal poses it looks too much like a dog... from the first picture, I thought 'aha, rodent!'

And why are they revamping the glass paint brush and calling it frozen? Why couldn't they just re-release the glass paint brush? We already have christmas and snow for the cold feeling...

It makes a little sense... remember that they said that the Bori would be involved in the Hannah and the Ice Caves plot.

Acually it's called frozen. A Frozen Paint Brush. I betcha every pet will be avaliable in frozen colour...

I thought Bori'd be enclosed in ice, too. An ice cube...

Yoy can see the sitting image of the Zafara right there, on his head ;)

Maybe the paint brush is called frozen, but the URL is "bori_ice_baby," so it could end up being ice.
