I personally don't mind the new change all that much. Yes, I sniped when I wanted to buy something from auction (I have a dial-up and still managed to snipe things, so don't listen to the "oh, I'm on dial-up, I can't snipe" carp), but I can live without sniping. This way other people can't snipe as easily anyways.
Actually, if given time, programmers could figure out how to make autobuyers work with the new system too. For example, search continuously for an item. When a new item appears, record the time it appears, check approximate time left, and match it to one of the options you can select as an auction time. Wait that amount of time, and snipe it. Then those of us who don't use autobuyers would be at an even greater disadvantage than we were at previously.
But whatever.

My question is:

Why are you spending time playing around with things like the auctions, which have been that way for years, when you have things like neoschools and war prizes to give out? Shouldn't you finish what you said you'd do long ago first and stop procrastinating with these minor details that can wait? O_o?? *cries with frustration*

Heheh, weren't the Neoschools errrmmm, permanantly suspended? Aaannnyyway, I just thought about it, but what if the seller was able to choose whether or not time would be displayed on their item. I mean, I heard some sellers saying that sniping helps boost up their profit, whilst others complain that it's bad. So if the seller was able to choose somehow, there would be far less complaining.

But that'd take a lot of work to put something like that together, so I doubt it'd come into effect. It'd be cool though :) *hint hint*

Unfortunately, when he said that it's final, I think he meant it.

Sniping is something that makes the auctionng aspect of the game less fun on the whole for the majority of players. Personaly it's kept me from ever bothering to use auctions. I don't mind being outbid fairly but sniping dosen't allow you to have a counter bid and prevents the seller from gettng maximum value for their purchase.

I don't agree with you about this. The fact that you are outbid by a sniper, in my opinion, can't be considered as "unfair". Counter bid is not a very intelligent way to win an auction, because it is simply the minimum bid. Why should someone who does the minimum effort get the item? I don't even think about that. Moreover, the fact sniping prevents maximum gain of the seller don't have any sense, I mean, there's no reason that the seller must gain maximum from their auction. The buyer may try to have his gain maximum too. Personnally, I don't think you would make a bid on an auction whose asking price is identical to its market value.

Sniping isn't bad, maybe you don't like it, or even hate it, in this case, just stay away from the auction.

Unfortunately it is what TNT thinks that counts.
