Mine's just now starting to slow down. Still loading ok, but it's taking three times as long.

Mine was slow in the early afternoon (images not loading, or freezing and not loading all together, in which case a single refresh loaded everything at normal speed, and I have DSL). It straightened out, and I played NeoQuest 2 all day, but then I completed Chapter 3 (on Evil!) and my cutscene wouldn't load **kicks cutscene**

Perhaps the low page counts have nothing to do with the graphics being slow-loading, but instead are the cumulative result of the following: the non-Neopets' ads on the new toolbar (particularly ebay, which people were frozen/warned in the past for even mentioning), the outraged Aussies over the gambling issues, the unfair freezings and warnings that have happened lately, and Neopet's strict policy of no compensation for glitches that is finally catching up with them. Just my opinion, of course.

Agreed, Morningstar. I noticed today also that some banners, in particular the AT&T CallVantage banner, are automatically downloading tracking cookies (better known as spyware) to our computers. The one in particular I noticed was "Avenue A, Inc." I normally avoid sites with tracking cookies or spyware... and now it's on neopets? I'm afraid that with the top banner, the unfair freezings, the poorly displayed shops and missing items, etc... I'm just losing my taste for Neopets in general. As I know I'm not the ONLY one who feels this way, perhaps this is also affecting page views.

You know you can download software that block these ads and their cookies...

On the subject of slow page loading -- Internet explorer tries to load ALL javascripts linked (<script src=""></script>) to the page BEFORE rendering the page. Should the server software choke for some reason choke while serving those scripts, there will be a noticible slowdown in the page rendering time.

The whole site has been slow and buggy (wheel of excitement failing to load [but still taking my neopoints], etc) for over a week now. Today in particular, it's been slow as sludge, with some pages just timing out before they load.

Oh yea, and as sited above, the extremely disrespectful treatment of players by TNT isn't going to help you any. Please, for the love of cheese, CHECK reports before you go willy-nilly icing every account on the site!

*grumbles*

Ah, yes, I forgot to mention the tracking cookies--they actually have been there for a few months now--as a good friend pointed out to me.

To deal with unwanted tracking cookies, download AdAware. I don't remember the site but if you use google, you can find the download page. It gets rid of all sorts of spyware.
