Maybe in future TNT might do so?

It's supposed to be and people were warned and frozen in the past. I don't know why it only happened then, but with the new temporary bans and such, you'd think they'd do it.

Actually, there was something in a recent Neopian Times editorial about this. It doesn't appear to be against the rules, at least according to the answer given by Donna in Issue 180:

Quote:
Is there any way to stop people from giving the answers to Lenny Conundrum on the boards? It seems a shame for those who honestly work hard to solve it. - chunkeydoll

Sadly no. If we ban the answer from appearing even more people will get it. We added the shared jackpot to try to discourage people from doing this. After all, the more people you tell, the fewer Neopoints you will win.

I don't get Donna's reasoning in her answer, but, then again, I don't get the reasoning behind a lot of things on Neopets.

Tested made this fabulous set for me!!! Isn't it great?

Donna needs to attend a logic class.

Well I guess if somebody just happened to be typing random words and they got a screen saying

"You have typed the answer to either the Mystery Pic or Lenny Conundrum. As a result this post has not been processed."

They'd know what the answer was 100%...

That's what I thought too. If people knew that it had to be a numerical answer they may start at 0 and just keep posting every number until they find one that won't post. If people also knew the range of possible answers (eg, the answer would be a location in Neopia) they could go through the entire lot too.

So they cannot filter out the answers, but reporting people for telling the answer outright should get them frozen.

Maybe but that adds to TNTs "to be investigated" work-load even more and potentially their "please unfreeze me" work-load too. They implemented the jackpot division to try to discourage people, I don't think they'll do much more. It is annoying to think that a solution posted on the Boards might be a reason why I didn't win an item one week but I think the options have to be weighted-up either way.

Even if they don't enforce the rule, at least it would be a deterrence, and people can confidently say "don't leak the answers or you will be frozen, it is right there in the rules".

I truly believe it would only remain a deterrence until people realised they weren't enforcing it, it wouldn't take long. TNT would then have to do some really fast talking to assure people that they are in fact putting their money where their mouths are and the rules they are choosing to create are in fact being enforced.

TNT really doesn't need to appear like they are being walked all-over, it is bad enough already.

TNT seldom enforce the temporary bans  A user insulted others on the board previously-she got banned for 72 hours. After that, she got back her ac.As for me,I posted the wrong word (nothing sexual or discriminating) and got a warning immediately from TNT.The next thing I knew,my ac got iced without any temporary bans or further warning.I don't have time to post crappy messages anywhere on the site.Man,I was busy looking for answer to the MP

Many users posted the LC answer on the board :x and those who worked for it will only get 1nps  TNT should start freezing those people who post answers to the MP and LC on the board.

Why not when you post the answer on the neoboards, your answer or entry will be void in the lenny c

That's a good idea but it's not easy to keep track of each player.Besides that, some users might use their spare ac to do the leaking

That wouldnt help. Many people dont care about the 1k nps there gonna get, thats why they leak the answer. Thus they leak the anser to gain populatiry. Voiding their one anser wouldnt fix the problem. TNT should freeze them.

It would be helpful if there was some kind of neoboard ban. Then they wouldn't be able to use the boards at all if they purposely leaked the answers.

Yeah it would be nice to have a ban. For example maybe the person who post the answer on the boards will not receive the price or may get self frozen. However, Neopets can only ban neoboards but not other boards or chatting in MSN or whatever.

At least the shared jackpot is a good enough ban. I think the current situation of LC is ok. But logically thinking, why would ppl want to waste their own neopoints and reveal the answers?

There's neoboard ban but as usual,it ain't common.Usually, only those under the age of 13 isn't allowed to post on boards.Besides that, some might leak the answer on guild board or messengers.

The shared jackpot is not gonna stop people from leaking the answer. Some wanted to waste the nps because it doesn't mean much to them. Some do so just to annoy others.Either way,I don't appreciate those who leak the answer on the board..argh! :x

Some idiot keeps on posting the answer on the board. He's not concern with the cash prize and stuff because he already got the avie, the trophy and lots of nps.Sheesh! This player should be banned from posting on the board!
