So I get on AIM tonight and my guild members swamp me saying I'm the only unfrozen council member. Apparently some time this morning TNT froze most of our guild because of "a fake login page and/ or was scammed". None of them were surfing pages that would take them to a fake login page, and there's no clue how they were scammed because we never give out passes, especially to people we don't know. Could it just be a glitch or something? Has this happened to anyone else today? All the victims are sending out e-mails to the staff, so hopefully this will get fixed soon!

:o Another guild hit? Man, if you're the only one unfrozen, get another temporary name and see if you can exchange some or most of your NP to it...just in case you get hit with the ice ray.

That's never happened to me, but I have friends that had their whole guild zapped with the freeze ray. Are you sure you didn't have a link in the guild that led to a fake login page? o_O

Actually.... I think the only reason I've been spared is because I pay for premium... That's the only reason I can see!

Not to be a skeptic, but... doesn't that seem a touch unfair?

Oh, no no! Don't get me wrong, I'm totally thrilled your account isn't frozen... but if paying premium means ice insurance, well, I'm not sure whether to criticize it or run off and look into Premium seriously

EDIT: If having contests is a freezable offense, then half the current Neopian population will be laying encased in ice if they get rid of all of them. Surely that's not right?

We didn't advertise them as such. We had challenges everyone could participate in for free, no mention of a prize just like they said in the editorial that once. It didn't cost anything and there were no guarentees of prizes, that they got them was just happenstance - we felt like giving gifts. They have stated that there is not an issue with this as long as we don't go "OMG PAY 1500 AND YOU GET A TICKET FOR SUCH IN SUCH AND GET A PRIZE OMGWTFBBQ!!!!1111!!!!1"

Well yes I agree - if that's what it is then I honestly feel as I should be frozen, too. Not that I WANT to be mind you, it's just so... stupid really.

(Sorry for the DP)

hmmm.....i wonder if anyone with a premium account has ever been frozen. if not, is it because people with premium accounts are less likely to be troublemakers, or that neo doesn't want to lose them? o_O

*points* The second one. Almost for sure :P

Though, I guess there is something to say about that... I know I wouldn't do anything even remotely suspicious on Neo (not that I do now!) if I was dishing out- what is it?- $30 a month to play a site.

Actually I only pay $8 a month, and even if you get the whole net service thing it's only $15.

30? no, when i signed up it was $6.99 or something, and now it's 7.99

even so, i highly doubt being a premium member is a license to use autobuyers and curse in the chatboards :P

I think someone who had a premium account was frozen... not sure though. He's on PPT somewhere... or she.

That's just a bit rude. Unless the other guild leaders did something bad, and you weren't in any way involved with it... but I think that they weren't, if only from what you said. I'm sorry, I have no clue what to say.

This is why i'm not in a guild. I created a private guild with only me as a member so I could test my fonts though. . .without having to go to the evil neopets boards.

Ice, actually any sort of raffle, contest, giveaway, etc. is against the rules and guilds have been cleared along with council and even members frozen when they're found. So if you're in a guild that does have any of the above, I strongly suggest you talk to whoever is in charge of them and tell them to stop them. Our guild used to have alot of activities, we had our web, people did get prizes, and we had a simple member of the day, member of the week, member of the month thing where that person would get just a little something. Nothing more than a codestone. We stopped everything, closed the website. Now have a very inactive guild (will be looking for a new one soon).

Anyway, I don't think being a Premium user would really lessen the chances of being frozen if you did something wrong, as vinylraven said. Paying isn't a license to break the rules.

This is an odd situation though, that the other council all were frozen, all for the same "you may have been scammed" reason. Did any of these people play on the same computer? I'm thinking something with an IP - and maybe you're not on that one? Just a thought.

I lost my first account because of illegal item exchanging in the guild I joined.

I was a premium account person and I got iced. And there are no refunds. :P
