Well I restock regularly and sometimes I think there are AB'ers in shops at times but if you pick a good time you can get some good things. The trick is the good stuff is usually in the corners (well ive found) if your on a slow connection try to go for things with more than 1 there. Click it fast type in fast (helps to practice) if the number come out wrong theres no time to change it so its worth a try if you get it you get it. Thats how i do it just got to wait around I guess...havent been many in the last few hours

try going for specific items, when you have a price that the shopkeeper will accept for it, type it out and copy it.
helped me to restock (though i just missed an item with a 300% return, so much for few people restocking in the card shop eh)

Here's a few more tips. Look the items from last to first. Depending on the shops, the second half of the shop usually has the good stuff. Don't ever use mouse scrolling to look around, use Home, End, Page Up and Page Down. Don't get seduced by rare items that you never saw before. It's the second you see them(after determining they're good) that your reflexes will work(or at least better). Wake up at 3:00 AM NST....nah, not really. For the never-empty shops like snow food shop, mark into your brain an item's location every few lines. (slightly advanced technique) You will know weither a new item appeared before or after that item, during a restock. One hand for keyboard, one hand for mouse, keep them where they are. Depending where you restock, have a window at food shop. That shop _always_ restocks on second 1(or 0) during restocks. Some shops restocks a few seconds later during that minute. If you see the food shop restock at second 1, get ready at your shop, if that one has an habit of restocking late. I

That's a few tips you can use.

Faster internet? If you're using a modem you probably shouldn't restock. Other than that you should just get used to typing quickly. Most of it is dependent on the speed of your computer and internet connection.
