I was just browsing through the various general topics, and stumbled upon the game ideas thread. Anyway, that - combined with the earlier paintbrush ideas thread - made me think that we needed a thread where we could just post some general Neopets related ideas.

Anything goes, honestly, although I think we should leave game and paintbrush ideas to their respective threads...

So, I'll start...

Idea 1: Male Faeries

This has been brought up a fair bit on the New/Unreleased thread, but I thought I'd post it here. A lot of people have been complaining that quite a few of the Faerie pets look too 'girly' (honestly, I think so what... but that's just me). Anyway,a big part of the reason could be the fact that there are no male faeries in Neopia.

So, maybe TNT so could drop the (pseudo) sexist thing, and give us a few male faeries - perhaps male versions of the elemental faeries, a Faerie King and, possibly, a trickster faerie - something like Puck from A Midsummer Night's Dream.


Idea 2: Genies

This is something I thought of a while ago - sort of as a counterpart to the faeries. Instead of introducing male faeries, I thought perhaps, TNT could leave the faeries as being female but introduce a male equivalent. The first thing that came to my mind were genies (or djinn, to be more correct).

Like the faeries, there would be elemental genies, a Genie King (or some such) and other various genies. Perhaps one that grants paintbrush wishes (sort of like the Fountain Faerie)...?

And they could come from the Lost Desert (or a submap) or have their own kingdom - most likely on the other side of Neopia.

And, of course, there could be a Genie Paintbrush. I mean, who wouldn't want their Blumaroo (randomly selected pet, btw) to lose their bottom half to a wisp of smoke that disappears into a shiny gold lamp?!


Idea 3: the Maraquan Chomby

This a very random idea, and something that occured to me when I was looking through the various Maraquan pets at Neocolours. Honestly. I don't like the Maraquan Chomby... it just looks too 'lumpy' and, compared to many of the other Maraquan pets, it's very badly drawn.

Personally, I think they should lose the Loch Ness monster idea and revamp the Maraquan Chomby into something akin to a snapping turtle. It's already the perfect shape. Sort of...


Anyway, those are my first 3 ideas. Feel free to submit any more you can think of, or comment on those that have already been posted.

I believe the marquian chomby is supposed to look like a sea dragon (a type of sea horse). I could be wrong, but it looks remarkably like the ones we have at our local aquarium.

There are sea-horses that don't look like normal sea-horses? Wow. I did not know that.

*goes to research these remarkable creatures*

Still, whatever the case, I've never been overly impressed with Maraquan Chomby. Not that it really matters to me, since I don't own a Chomby. Nor do I plan on owning one.

Most sea dragons(the seahorse) look like seaweed... they are never compared to sea monsters Oo

I was just about to post the same thing. I honestly had no idea there were such creatures as sea dragons (I just assumed they were normal seahorses) so I went and looked them up.

And yea, I can't see how this:



looks anything like a Maraquan Chomby.

Ya know what would be cool, is a 3d Neopet Image thing... just a drawing that you can rotate and zoom in and out etc. You get them for alot of things.. but they should make one for neopets!

After someone mentioned the male faerie idea in the...unreleased thread was it?...I thought I'd try and draw one, nevermind the fact that I can't draw humans faces all that well (nor proportions for that matter).

But in doing so I realized that male faeries would end up looking like boy-band members, and we can't have that, can we? Although I like the idea of male faeries, they'd honestly seem really out of place on neopets.

And what's wrong with them looking like boyband members? I mean, they're the best example of male faeries out there. Just kidding!

But really, when you think about it, the current faeries look like they could jump the Spice Girls and steal their places, so boyband-esque male faeries wouldn't be that far out of line.

If I could draw, I'd give it a go myself...

But, to be honest, I much prefer my genie idea. I like genies... and don't anybody try and steal my idea or I'll lock in a lamp for a thousand years!

I guess I'm not the only genie around here now, right?

I like him Good job CrewWolf. It really does look like an Air Faerie..or Air Fae..or whatever the right term a male faerie is called.

They might end up trying to make a Male Faerie really Masculine, and have it sort of Scaly wings... or dark feathers?

Although I suppose TNT would make them Boyband Faeries

I think the Maraquan Chomby looks fine, but I really like the other ideas. Especially the Genie one, it would be cool to see genie pets.

If there were, like genie faeires and when you do their quet they'd raise any stat you want, that would be cool

I always thought the maraquan chombie looked a bit like Nessie, I think it's cute.

The maraquan chomby is supposed to resemble nessie (the lock ness monster!)
