i really dont like this idea!!! i mean that was a good way to make the boards interesting, also a good method to recognize people on the boards with. i just don't understand why they could not try to work on it instead of removing them.

*sigh* I'm just gonna copy and paste everything I've told people on the Neoboards.

Yes, I was annoyed... for about 10 seconds. A good 90% of glow/shadow fonts were unreadable. Yes, the majoraty of users use Internet Explorer, but there's still many people who use other browsers. I don't know about you, but it's just so annoying to have to highlight a ton of posts just to see what's going on.

Change is a part of life. You will get over it. Glow and shadow was not a neccessity, it was a luxury. If you don't agree with what I am saying, so be it. I am just posting my honest opinion about things.

Internet Explorer has many security issues. That is why people use other browsers. However, those other browsers were not programmed to display CSS, the code that is used to make text glow. So there was no way people could see it on the browsers.

I wrote some more stuff, but that was arguing with Neoboard people and it wouldn't make sense if I posted it here.

I'm really glad. You can make your font pretty without having to use blinding, unreadable fonts - which is what the glow and shadow were, to me at least. Even when I was on IE I couldn't read them.

Well. To be quite honest, this pleases me.
It's incredibly aggrivating to read through posts on the neoboards that consist of glowing, shadowed... ugly fonts. And my feeling on that extends to AIM and MSN (when people use fonts like that on MSN or AIM, I tend to ignore them).
I don't mind having colors (though pale or neon colors are painful to read), but creating massively ugly, hard to read fonts doesn't make viewing the neoboards pleasureable for anyone.

Was that the reason I saw so many people with invisible fonts?
Either way, i'm happy, you're going to go ignored if your post is hard to read.

I am happy about this. Most of the glowy fonts were un-readable. Now we can READ everyone's fonts! :battar:

I'm quite pleased by it (although for the most part if I've used Mozilla for my Neoboard browsing so it never bothered me.) They were a problem and tacky in some cases. If they defaulted some of the fonts back to black I think it still would have been nicer.

As I have said, you do not need giant glowing font for it to match your avatar. Just one solid color can look good. For instance...

Image Solid green goes very well with this avatar.

And don't say, "I want the PERFECT font!" Because often, the perfect font is the hardest to read.

Red goes with MSPP av. That's what mine was until I decided to change it.

A small red font would look great with that I think. :)

I am so happy they removed the glows. It was getting to the point where 3/4 of all the fonts were completely unreadable on the boards.

I am using the mutant JubJub avatar and I have 3 colors, maroonish, dark green, and yellow. It looks nice. I've always liked plain fonts better than glowy, un-readable fonts.
