Despite the fact that I've been on for some 3 years, I've never actually had any serious battles or trained my pets. Right now, I'm thinking about taking on the pant devil, so I need some advice. :)

How many hit points should my pet have before I try to fight him? (Experience tells me 23)

What are some weapons that will cause a good amount of damage and don't cost 2 million?

What other items should I have for when I start battling real opponents?

Well, I beat him when my Eyrie had 33 HP, and then right afterwards I beat the Ghost Lupe.

Here are the main weapons I used: Brain Tree Branch, Noxious Nectar, Purple Blob Potion, and Red Frost cannon for both.

Set by WIS (I think XD), awesome fader by Bangel!

I think this should go in there, but, a BD mod would have to do the moving. Right now, I'll give you some advice. :)

You want your HP to bo about 20, if you have a good healer, and about 30 otherwise, I'd say.

You want good, constant, 6 icon weapons. I always like the Rohanes Armour Polish and Lost Desert Dagger. You can pick them up for about 10k each.

You also want a shield, the best cheap one is Leaf Shield. You can pick one up for dirt cheap.

The next item I'd recommend is a healer. The price increases steeply, the 10HP healing Slime Potion costs about 1k. The 15HP healing Bronze Scorchstone costs about 15k. The 20HP healing Red Scorchstone costs about 75k, and finally, and after that, they're all unbuyable. The healer depends on what you want to spend.

You also want a freezer. You have to choices, get an item healer, I'd say a cheap Frost Cannon, with Green, Blue or Yellow. I'd tell you the better one, but I've forgotten the stats. These sell for about 1k. Or, you could go for the ability Fiery Gaze. It's an ability you get from the Fire Faerie, they sell for about 4k, however, I think you can't use this that often, as you need to have some energy left.

Finally, you need a bomb. Normally, I'd recommend a Honey Potion, but, the price, 500k, is probably a bit high for you. Instead, I'd go for 2 Sticky Snowballs. You can only use it once though, so, you need to buy some more after each battle, but they're so cheap anyway.

I hope this helps, and be sure to check out the PPT associated-IDB located
here!

~ Matt :)

Okay, thanks. :) I'm not really planning to spend more than 100k, since I'm not a serious battler yet. I'll try to stock up on those items you mentioned.

I'm not a liking of RAP (Rohane's Armour Polish) and LDD (Lost Desert Dagger) as you guys. RAP has the 2 most common icons in battling, and the common Leaf Shield blocks it completely (Same with the Brain tree Mace).

So I reccomend:

Tailinas Whittling Knife
Bronze Scorchstone/Slime Potion
Scarab Stone Slingshot (This and Tailina's Whittling Knife are an unstoppable team ;) )
Immense Rubebr Axe of Doom
Illusens Earth Potion
Bronze Short Sword
Leaf Shield
*species weapon*

I like pickles, I like cheese, I like climbing lobster trees!

Depending on the specie, you might want to consider specie weapons as well. Stuff like the kau knight helmet are nearly 20x cheaper than the whittling knife, but are stronger.

Indeed, Matt has some pretty good advice from you.
As well as some of the others!

But in fact, such a thread should go into the Weapons Advice/Reccomendations Board sticky. Helps us keep a sense of sanity around here ;)

I'll just lock this up here. :)
