How long does a round last or is it until a person lose...?

Rounds should last no more than a week. If you don't finish it by then, you'll usually see your game disappear (although most times the person that made the last move will move on, i've had times where the game has disappeared completely)

You can finish earlier in the week if you happen to actually play the game out but... that usually doesn't happen.
