Do you all remember the Gwontek Melon? The rudest item on the site.. not only dodgy in shape but with a description which verged on the suggestive too..

Well I've got one in my inventory, and I'm horrified to notice that it's been sanitised! Now it's a boring pear shape and the description is entirely clean. So, is that as near as we'll get to TNT admitting one of their items was dodgy?

Ugh neopets is getting so boring! They need a rudest item....

Whoa I never noticed this melon before, but I must agree that its original picture is much more *interesting*. Now the new picture is totally bland-looking, even the part near the stalk.

It's funny they changed that. It probably has less to do with whether they thought it was suggestive and more to do with people who used it on Neopets to get around the filters and still have nasty conversations.

Yeah, too true - a nice rude item that the older ones among us can have a good giggle at is essential!! I loved Gwontek Melons, I was going to make a gallery of them until I realised they're rare and unbuyable.. *sniff* now what's going to go in my rude gallery?

Holly, he's hotlinking the Gwontek of your server, I'd change it so that it reads something about not stealing others posts, or whatever if you really want to punish him.

I'm glad they changed the item, though you really needed a dirty mind to associate it it, I'm glad they changed it for the younger member of the site growing up with such dirty imagery, and suggesting posting of the naughty item.

it could be but i thought the change was uncalled for. as mentioned, you would need some imagination and a decent knowledge of the human anatomy to link them together. it is unlikely that young kids would possibly think of that just by looking at the fruit and the description.

Absolutely, you'd have to already have a dirty mind to understand it, and people with dirty minds aren't offended by stuff like that, right?!

Oh, sometimes neopets can be so careful, it wouldn't hurt to have something this interesting once in awhile. *coughscoughs*
