I never thought it would happen.

But it did.

I logged on to Neopets after my shower to check my till.

The stuff in my shop was gone, but I didn't have the money.

I thought this was odd, so I looked in my bank.

Gone. 500k. 2 years and a half savings.

Items- Gone. About 40k worth in there.

SDB- Gone. I had a lot in there, and my first HT item, the cute tombola doll which I lubbed. About 300k worth.

I didn't go to any pages or do anything wrong. This just... happened.

Well, at least they didn't freeze my account, or abandon my pets.

Though WHY did the hacker have to choose MY account, Troygirl845?

Nothing too special about the name, and I know richer people.

So why me?

Why do I end up with nothing in the end?

They didn't even leave me dung.

It looks like a lot of people are being hacked lately. I'm sorry it happen to you too.

All I can tell you is to report it to TNT, change your password and email, and try not to post you're username places or how much money you have.

A lot of people are getting hacked lately... it's making me a bit nervous, but I keep a relatively low profile, so hopefully nothing will happend to me or anyone else.

I'll have to agree. Seems that someone is having a hacking spree. Change the password of your email too if it's connected to your account. Is it the same email in your ppt profile? If so, then I suspected someone is lurking in ppt. Did any suspicious people email you regarding neopets?

No nothing. I have seprate passwords for everything, but it is my ppt email. I don't know how I an gonna earn my 500k back... *sigh*

*shakes head* I can offer you nothing but my best wishes and everyone else who's been hacked. I can't believe how many people are being hacked lately! I highly doubt it's one person, or that it's a conspiracy; I think it's all just a coincidence how so many are going on at one time. A most unfortunate coincidence at that. Too bad we don't get positive ones...like popping onto Neopets one day and getting bombarded with good or useful Random Events (or if you're desperate like me, ANY kind of RE that doesn't involve being taxed or having Mutant Kadoaties screaming xP).

EDIT: Oh yea, forgot to mention- for all of the horrible and stupid people out there in Neopia, there's still the good few who are kind and generous. I'm sure some people will give you a few items or NP to help you get back on your feet. And my advice to everyone- in case it *is* a conspiracy (for us paranoid people out there >>; ), I suggest keeping a low profile? Just in case...

You should have different emails for PPT and neopets... For your neopets email, if you have yahoo or hotmail email, don't let anyone find that email address out, they can be hacked pretty easily.

You should never post or talk about how much nps you have, especially if you have alot.... its something to be proud of, but the more neopoints you have, and the more people know about it, they are going to want to steal it..... i guess you had to learn the lesson the hard way im sorry that happened... ive had that happen to me too, and it was horrible. HORRIBLE.. i too had a year of savings and everything was taken from me.... mine was because of the log-in scam though. Anyway, youll just have to know this for the future. Don't announce it if you have alot of nps.

For safety reasons, my account is not connected to any emails. Just write down the passwords in a word doc or diary if you are absertminded.

Sorry to hear that you got hacked. I'd help out, but I'm just a poor neopian. I spend my neopoints as fast as I earn them up to the point for something I want. The most I have right now to give away is a handful of cheap omelettes. If that will help at all......

With all these hacking going on, is it possible someone found a glitch on Neopets and is exploiting it?

Hackers make me mad. Sorry to hear about your account being hacked.

Hacking has been at a high lately so i suggest that everyone keep a low profile. Don't advertise how many NPs you have and unless they're in your trades or shop, don't mention any unbuyables that you own. Of course, this won't completely leave you invulnerable to hackers, but hopefully it'll help a bit.

I'm fairly invisible on Neopets though, so I'm not too much of a target. The only boards there I visit are the TP/Auctions ones, if I need to buy/sell an unbuyable item. And I don't advertise how much NP I have, because I know that's just asking for trouble.

My Neopets email is my PPT email. However, gmail is pretty difficult to hack into. Though I should go check my secret question just in case...

While I use the same password on Neo as I do for most things, there's numbers interwined in my Neo password so that it's almost impossible to guess.
