For those who have heard the wild Ad0 stories, people claim that he has hacked again. I think it is mostly humor and call it urban legend, but lack of access to the site has caused the rumors to fly my way again. I have recieved several messages mentioning him in some way (asking me if I know the person or how to acces the site).

For those who had not heard the 'urban legend' of Ad0, the Anti-Neopian's Anti-Neopian Times have an article on him. [I do NOT endorse hate sites, but it was the only URL I have off hand. It was e-mailed to me.]

Goes to say, every time there is a problem on the site, this mysterious 'one and only hacker of Neopets' is to blame (so say people who complain to me). Lose an item? It's Ad0! Didn't get a trophy? It's Ad0!

Anybody else hear any stories about this semi-mythical figure today?

So you mean to tell me the thousands of people who lose items daily are caused by this ONE guy?

He must have a lot of time on his hands.

I really believed the story that Ad0 would unfreeze your account if you post a message in a 'secret board' out there ...when I was a NEWBIE!

LOL, Ad0 always gets mentioned when things go wrong.

In all honesty though, I've been playing Neo for almost 2 years now, and I've only been witness to one "Ad0-related" incident. And even then I'm not sure 100% it was him, but it was an obvious hacker, and the damage was huge and *fast*. The hacker did take credit as being Ad0 if I recall, but who knows for sure. *shrug*

I dont think I was around in those days, what actually happened? (I clicked on the link, but the bandwidth has been exceeded so I cant read it)

Though they do sometimes have valid points, I tend to take this all with a bucket or two of salt.

wait, is that the site that had that little map thing, and all us PPTers were posting on it, like "I PWN AUSTRALIA" and "EUROPE IS MINE" etc?? those were the days.

I think that the site has valid concerns but in the end, it's just people complaining about things changing. I think their article blaming Neopets for the lady who put herself in the hospital for slitting her wrists is a bit much though. @_@

Neopets can be hacked like anything else, but I don't think she would waste her time on something as stupid as putting the site down for a few days.

Sorry. Off topic *grrr* but I think it is really neat that people believe it enough to ask me if I know how to contact the person to make a request or some junk. Sorry, too many Sociology classes involving Urban Legends and their effect on the American Psychosis.
