*Cringes* I promised myself never to use this thread.

In William Shakespeare's Macbeth, while the thanes are meeting with the English army, is an excuse gaven for Donalbains disappearance? I know he's left for Ireland, but is that the last we see of him? Does this reference a signifigant point in the plot?

I'm using the Oxford School of Shakespeare's Macbeth, just in case there have been alterations.

Two math problems I am doing for extra credit befuddle me:

1. A motorist traveling 5 mph is being purseud by a hihgway patrol car traveling 65 mph. If the patrol car is 4 miles behind the motorist, how long will it take the patrol car to overtake the motorist?

2. A ski lift carries a skier up a slope at the rate of 120 feet per minute and he returns from the top to the bottom on a path parallel to the lift at an average rate of 2640 feet per minute. How long is the lift if the round trip traveling time is 20 minutes?

Both are ridiculously easy problems, but for some stupid reason I continue to end up with very wrong decimal answers. Could someone lead me through? Thanks in advance!

1. The speed at which the patrol car is gaining on the motorcycle is 60 mph (65 mph - 5 mph). Since speed = distance/time, solving for time, we get time = distance/speed. We know the distance is 4 miles, and we just calculated the speed to be 60 mph.

t = d/s = 4/60 = 1/15 hours or 4 minutes.

2. Let d = the length of the lift in ft
t = 20 minutes

Total Time = First Distance/First Speed + Second Distance/Second Speed + ...

Since d is constant, the equation just looks like this:

20 = d/120 + d/2640
52800 = 22d + d
52800 = 23d
2295.65 ft = d

It's most often classified as percussion. I'm pretty sure it's not a string instrument.
