Disagree. She says someone told her how to get to the chats, yet earlier says she doesn't know how to retrieve a neomail. She says Mike wouldn't like it if his account was frozen, but Mike supposedly is in no position to like or dislike, if he is really dead.

Like I said, I am a mom, I lost a sister to a car accident--and, at one time, I was totally new to Neopets. You cannot know how to post, how to retrieve messages, how to send messages if you just went on to Neopets without ever going on it before. She/he is tripping themselves up on their story.

It reminds me of the girl who locked herself in the closet because two bad guys broke into her house--yet she is able to still be on Neopets--typing in the dark and who the heck has an internet connection ever so handy in their closets? Or the guy who ran to the barn because the tornado was coming toward him and his neighbor's land had just flooded.

Attention seekers with nothing better to do than reel gullible people in. Sorry, if I am blunt. But, her story just doesn't jive. But, hey, it is a free country (world?)--believe who you want to believe.

yeah she says that her son spent most of his time online, but if you look at the account, its a year old with practicly nothing on it. no trophies, average pet, nothing in the shop, no battledome stats, stamps or anything of the sort. if this kid was really playing a lot like this lady says he did, there would be a lot more then is there.

Because Neopets is the only site on the internet...

Okay then, if he was spending a lot of time online, but it obviously wasn't on neopets because his account is pretty bare, then why would his grieving mother go to neopets to tell everyone about it?

I don't believe it for a second. I know people deal with grief in different ways, and I could see a mother telling people on a messageboard that her kid had died if he spent a lot of time there... but this just doesn't add up. Plus I've worked at various forums since 1999, and almost every "this poster died!" topic has been a scam.

That said, I'd just ignore it, on the (very slim) chance it's true. If it's true, you don't hurt her feelings, and if it's false, the kid doesn't get the attention he's craving.

Interesting read, anyway.

"I was wondering if anyone on this chat knows me? Please tell me."

"I'm sorry but I'm trying to find anyone who was his friend...I have never been on this site before and the only reason I know about it is when he told me about it sometimes in the past. I'm sorry if I did something wrong, which I don't see anything but I was just trying to figure out how to find someone who knew him?"

"I do hope I don't get frozen. This neopets things was special to Mike. He did have friends in real life but he liked neopets and talked frequently of it. It would most likely upset him if it got frozen."

Poor widdle girl. Errr...boy.

Yeah, I suspected them being an Attention DUCK all along. After watching it for a while, an adult seriously doesn't make so many spelling errors, emotional or not.

I just spent about 30 minutes reading the entire thread in one sitting. Is blitzoflight a PPT member? His shop has the pink poogle toy in his shop for 133700. Whether it's true or not, people still shouldn't have lashed out at her. At best, it could've been executed by a prankster and nobody was actually killed. At worst, it could've been the truth and her son really died. Give them the benefit of the doubt and if you don't believe it, then it's best to just ignore it completely. You don't know for sure if this was true or not.

I dunno. If she's really telling the truth.. then I feel bad for her. But either way people are being very rude. All in all I agree with Sky920.

Just because they are an adult doesn't mean they can't make spelling errors, I think.

Before blame starts to be thrown around, and insults towards members of the neoboards come forth... (as if they already haven't. *AHEM*)
No one can prove as of yet, whether the person is really his mother or not, and if she were to read this thread, it could (theoretically) cause her more grief, or more pain.
Not to mention, that were the people on the neoboards to come here and read this, they could be quite upset.

Locked.
