There are two deer.

One is half of two. So, therefore, one deer is half of the group of two deer. One half = 50%. Right?

Then another deer comes. There are now three deer.

So we already previously determined that one deer = 50%. So if a third deer comes, then we have just increased our group by one deer. Therefore, the group has increased by 50%.

the third deer is secondary to the primary group, which increased itself by 50% with the addition of a third deer.
