Why not just get a rule that states anyone within two metres of the choking student has to scream at the top of their lungs? A lot more effective!

I'd tell those kids to just go hide in the bathroom or something. Eat somewhere else. They can't chain you to cafeteria seats, right? (If they can, then the kids can report it to the school board or something. Either way, they win.) I would never eat in a cafeteria, no matter whose life depended on it.

Seriously. Making people eat in the cafeteria and not letting them anywhere else is one thing, but making them be silent? And not letting tem get up? And...assigned seats? And what if someone does burst out giggling? Do they get detention or something? Expelled? (Which wouldn't be so bad...then they could go to a less ridiculous school!) Or if they have to talk or get up for something important...

(Yes, I know I point out the obvious, but I can't get over that. What idiots.)

I've seen things for babies that look like little bags made out of mesh, so that the baby can have food but the pieces are sooooo tiny because the baby has to get it through the net. They could make kids eat their food that way. :roflol:

I find it quite interesting that my school lets us roam freely during our lunch period, just as long as we don't go on the academic floors. Most people do eat lunch in the cafeteria, but by 20 minutes into the period (45 min. long), most people have gone elsewhere, some to the library, others... somewhere, I have no idea, I usually just go up to the library. So by that time, the cafeteria is silent. It's fairly amusing to see the gradual change from loud as a stadium to quiet as a library, when the opposite happens in the actual school library- starts each period out quietly, but by the end, it's really very loud. I usually study in the cafeteria.

I thought they renamed it the abdominal thrust. I can't find anything about them renaming it the J-stroke.

That sounds odd and a little dirty. I'm sticking with maneuvering as opposed to stroking, if you all don't mind.

I would think that all the talk about stroking and thrusting would distract the person attempting to use it on the choking kid. o_o
