I have to say I could never get a decent score with the old game. In the new one, the balloon thing makes it easier for me. I've doubled my average score from 15-20 to 30-40. I hate the animation, though.

You can always hit the right arrow key to skip it. That's what I do, cause it annoys me, too!

I do hit the right arrow. But it annoys me that I have to hit the right arrow after every shot -- there should be a way to kill it entirely the first time!

I'm liking the new game. I actually got three bullseyes in one game today. The most I ever got in the old game was 2/game, and it was usually none. I got an 86 in the 3-bullseye game, thanks to a balloon/ring of flames combo. So maybe I could actually get this avatar at some point, if I keep playing every day; I'd always considered it near-impossible before. I'm sure it must be frustrating if you had the system down for the old game, but this one's not bad once you get used to it (just ignore the buzz).

I am also working towards the avatar. I miss the old game, but I am getting used to the new one. My high score is 51.

I dont like the new version a ton, but it did make the avatar a lot easier. I had no chance before, but I got it with three days of practicing the new version. This isnt the worst revamp though, since the basic point and controls are the same. Im still completely, horribly upset about Volcano Run.

I'm having a really hard time with the angling. Shot power I think I'm good on, but I can never seem to tell what angle is best for firing at.

I just got the avatar! For me, keeping the angle the same and adjusting the power seems to work best. If the target moves up the hill, I just give it a little more power. The only time I mess with the angle is when there's a balloon. If it's medium height, I raise it one notch; if it's higher and/or really close, I raise it 3 notches.

I really dislike the revamp, too. I loved the old game even though I could never come close to get the avatar. I'd typically get between 50 & 110.

It seems like the new one has more to do with luck than skill. Punchbag Bob comes up at random instead of a power-up and when he comes, it removes your power-ups you chose. Also, the balloon comes up randomly. My best game so far was when the balloon came out low & close to the target 3 times in a row allowing me to hit the balloon and the target together. Other games, the balloon does not show up at all.

I am going to try for the avatar since the score to get it is now only 100, and I can get close when the balloon comes out a few times in the same game. If there is some way to predict when the balloon comes out (or to make it come out), please post it here. It's great to combine with the "inverse" power-up, as it's not too bad hitting the balloon and the wood at the same time.

This is better how? I was never any good at the original game {I averaged about 30 points/game if I was lucky} but at least I made some decent np from it. The camera angle now is just way too hard now, it took me *years* to even get a high score of 54 on the original and that was hard enough. Not playing this game any more until I can work out the depth of the game due to the weird camera angle, which is a pity because it could be a decent np earner.

The camera angle does take some getting used to. But with the avatar easier to get (I really never liked the game to begin with) I am really working to get better at it.
