Yay! Mini-Plot. I hope all of the steps are as quick as this one. Time is short for me right now.

First puzzle was perfect. 5 clicks and done

An event board has been put up, the name is Portal Activation Centre.

There are 5 red lights on the Control Panel, one turned green after completing the first puzzle. So 4 more days of the puzzle at least. And the NC part finishes on the 24th as well.

Whether there is more to the event, I suppose only time will tell.

Today's puzzle is 4x4.

I actually tried to do this in a more logical way (rather than my 'keep clicking until it works' method of yesterday) and got it within a few gos.

Prize:

Managed to get yesterday's by JN's guide (I was short on time and lazy), but today's I puzzled through and actually got fairly quickly (and either I got lucky, or I started in the right spot, because I didn't have to click any spot twice). This reminds me of the tree puzzles in Black and White.

From the Nifty Control Panel With Lights page (just for posterity's sake, because it amuses me) Heh. Surely they won't have us blow up Neopia....but then, with TFR's surprise event...

Hopefully these puzzles will be all we have for a bit. Hopefully.

ETA: Okay, so Mr. P just got home and looked at the puzzle and did it in 4 clicks. Here I thought I'd done it quickly...ROTF.

The prizes seem to be all robotic/cybernetic. Will we see a new land of robots?

I don't know, I was kind of ready to hear Lutari Island

But if this does introduce a new land/re-introduce Lutari Island, wouldn't that make the bracket system the Altador Cup utilizes obsolete? Unless, this potentially new land doesn't send anybody to the AC.

If this does have something to do with JumpStart, seeing as the plot started roughly at the same time of the purchase, could it possibly have to deal with the mobile site? I think I saw something on this thread about a smartphone. Then again, it is rather soon.

Seeing as how the lamp won't be useful after the 24th, I don't think this will last long at all. But there is a board set up for it, as there was for any other event.

I think the items fit the Moltara theme pretty well, actually, and since they're being given out in Moltara... This seems like the intro activity into a multi-step thing, and if I recall correctly, there were separate NC items for various stages in other events. I also noticed that these items were created before the Jumpstart items (not too surprisingly, really, since an event takes longer to develop than a one-time giveaway), since they appear first in the SDB.

Today's puzzle was... Special. Very large. Not a bad item either.

Still hoping this leads somewhere, I guess it's comparable to the Contest portion of the SFC.

I freaked out a little when I saw I didn't have a new puzzle today, but then I remembered DHK saying that the NC item expired on the 24th. Is there a new step today, or do we get to wait?

New step was delayed but has now been activated.

Quite a nifty little step, but real easy!

You need to buy supplies to build a Random Events Machine.

You are asked to find a few junk items (around 10/12).
When you take them back you get an option to help out. Once clicked, a countdown is started to when you can return.

Mine were:

Cobrall In A Can x3
Golden Moon Comb x3
Orange Kreludan Bed x4

It seems that this event is not going to be about Lutari Island or the new Mobile App, but instead a new updated version of Random Events are heading our way!!

Not everybody gets junk; I have items I have to get four of that are 7000+ NP apiece. Fair chunk of change on this step for me.

Eeeessh, what did you get asked for?

Most of my items had inflated to 10nps a piece. There's too big a pool to go through and stock up on them, though, especially with the limited time I've currently got.

Seems like they're making references everywhere with this one! There's portal references, plus a nice snuck-in LOTR reference in the news today. I've heard there's a couple others, but those are the ones I actually understood.

ETA: There's some serious price gouging going on. I suspect that that's what Chivewarrior ran into. Ugh. This reminds me of COM and they Mystery Island plots. I hope TNT adds an option to refuse to get the items (with a short time penalty or something before you can try again) so that people who can't afford 500k or more per quest can still participate.

2 Red Toadstools, the *cheapest* of which is nearly 24,000 NP, and 4 Gilded War Hammers, which in the time between my last post and now seem to have inflated to 10,000 NP apiece.
