There is no way that that could be true. A lot of users would get extremely upset if that was the case, and I'm sure The Neopets Team knows that. The site should always stay free to play, and with the release of Neopets Premium there would be an option to upgrade (though I'm not sure exactly what would be better in Neopets Premium than in normal gameplay, other than an unfair increase of random events and items).
Besides, with Neopets Premium, why would TNT need to make the whole site pay-to-play anyway?

Firstly: People will believe anything.. the "pay for play" is Neopets' Premium, which you certainly don't need in order to play Neopets. Neopets will never be pay to play, not completely, anyhow. They make enough money off of sponsors to keep the site *almost* completely free.

Secondly: I've gotten warnings for posting the words "Pink PT"... however I see a million people every day post "tineneohelp" and "soupfaerie" all over the boards. None of them get frozen... so it seems that TNT is a bit biased as to which off site URL's are okay and which aren't. I don't mind not being able to post PPT in the boards, I just wish they didn't show favortism.

Your just talking about Neopets Premium, thats just for if you want extra things for the site, other then that, they arent going to charge you, thats just if you want the stuff from Neopets Premium.

I would love it if they started charging to play. It would weed out all the people who do not really want or need to be there. I would pay $5-$10 a month to play because I dont play alot. Back in the day I wouldve payed $30.

I doubt they would do that, but a second part of neopets such as a neopets premium gameplay, they might do. (i didnt read the thread so this might have been mentioned already)
