Magnolia sat in a back corner of the cage. Her magenta hair covered her face from view and her eyes were only on the ruby amulet she wore around her neck. Zelda mewwed softly and crawled out from a corner of the blanket Magnolia was wrapped in. Magnolia shifted her gaze and her face broke into a tired grin. "Sweet little kitten," she cooed, "you're the only thing that can make me smile." She gentled petted the Tortoishell cat and scooped her up into her arms. Zelda began to purr and she nestled back amongst the blankets.

Lery moved in the cage next to her, and Magnolia watched her out of the corner of her dark eyes. A glimmer of purple caught her eye and she felt her hand secure around her own amulet. How odd... she thought Lery has an amulet like mine, except her stone is different... I wonder what that means?

The dry winds that were blowing into the cargo area had dried Isis' tears away, and as she looked at the girl in the cage she felt some comfort inside her, forgetting her troubles.

With a slight smile on her face she drew herself closer to the cage. The girl inside looked rather worried, pulling herself backward and keeping her hands close to her body, as if she was holding on to something small.

"Are you okay?" Isis asked with a soft voice.

Maybe it was too direct to ask something like that, she thought, but at the same time she was well aware of the terrible conditions the slaves down here were kept in, and for that matter it was just polite to ask such questions. At the same time Isis thought about what great gift it was from her heavenly lord to save her from places like this, and help her survive through harsh times.

*how did a knight from leyra get caught up in this?* Saint thought to himself curled up in a ball and avoiding contact with anyones eyes...

Saint was not your usual "valiant-sexy-man-with-the-power-of-ten-men-riding-a-stallion-to-save-a-princess" kind of knight, he was a failure, a screwup. everyone who carried his name in folk tales generally described him as 'a curse of the devil', but as folk tales seem to get more an more exaggerated, it soon became a legend that he was indeed a beacon for bad luck..

it all seemed to start when he found a shiney brown amulet in the fields.. but thats another story..

*thats right, what kind of knight walks plainclothed into a bar?, your an idiot sometimes Saint, but this just bites th..* his concentration was broken again by the large annoying creak from the ship.

Saint uncurled himself, and sat crouched on the floor. for once on this trip, his eyes scanned the smelly, dark, dingy room..well cell to be corrected.

dark green moss hung from the corners of the cell. there was a few people in the cell with hiim, but he didnt want to even bother trying to figure out who and where they were from...

his eyes darted around the room once more, then he curled himself in a ball again, and just layed there....

it seemed like hours since he last sat up, but it always does when your on a long, boring, trip..
Saint sat back up again..
he had just remembered something..
Saint searched around his neck, finnally locating the thing he was looking for.
The amulet..

memories began to flood back..

it was just another ordinary sunny day.. there wasnt a single fight, yet alone swordfight for days now..
Saint's heavy armour chinked as he hobbled along what was supposedly a beach..
"this is not my day" he thought out loud as he despratly tried not to sink into the sand and end up falling head first into a coushin of salt and mineral grains.
something small glinted a little light into his eye. he ignored it at first, then it got annoying.. so he began searching for the source.. and found a silver amulate with a chain...

" 'ey lon'le, whatch yeh got ze'r?" someone from the back of the cell called to him.. he came out from the back of the cell and into the middle of the room, where a little light shon through a hole in the upper deck
"Gayfyn" he muttered under his voice as he rolled his eyes..
"wha wa sat man?"
obviously this guy was thicker than two thick planks of oak.
he came a little closer to Saint until he was about a foot away from him
"prit'e rack yeh gatz ze'r" he smiled and showed his hideously grotesque teeth..
he was stupid, and unhygenic.. what a mix..
"mah'nd if ah' tayke eh' pe'k at it?"
he knew where this was going. so he put his most stupidest accent..
"no mahn, ya kan't tayk eh pe'k at it"
the Gayfyn look dissapointed, heck, this guy was smart to just give up.

Saint relaxed a little as he walked away.. at least he had a little excitment on this dooming trip. Saint lifted himself up, and walked towards the bars. his head just managed to sqeeze through the opening of one of the bars.
he looked around.. nothing but a dark gloomy corridor and a rabbit.. nothing special..
realisation hit him like a tonne of rocks.
*what was a rabbit doing in this place?*
the rabbit hopped along into the cage opposite him, where a dark figure in robes was talking to someone else..
he could make out a few snippits of their conversation
"I...try to rem... that if .... were ..u. Y.. already ob..ssed en...gh ...ith the thing. Y... fid..le w..h it a....re an.. y.... mi...t jus.. e..d u... r......ing yo.. ..er ..ot ..t"
the words didnt make any sense, until he saw the amulate....

"I was just trying to be polite, and don't you ever call me stupid again." Isis snapped back at the girl in the cage.

She turned herself around again to lean against the cage with her back. Without thinking about their previous exchanged thought she continued:

"You know, I would much rather sit down here in a cage, than be up there." she said with a distant voice gazing up to the deck. Footsteps could be heard walking all around, and commands were given constantly to different men. Mostly they were ordered by Malak, the chief on the boat. Isis shivered as she though about him, and all of what he had tried to do to her. She was only lucky to have escaped him so far.

Isis turned her head quickly as she heard a voice speak from not far. It came from another cage nearby, where a young man was sitting; he seemed to be a bit older than Isis. As she looked further on the aisle she could see another figure looking at her direction in an interested way, she realized that he was gazing past her and into the other girl's cage.

Isis pulled herself a bit away from the cage she had been leaning against and sat herself in the center of the isle looking at the nearest cages. She understood that the girl in the cage could not possibly understand Isis' situation, she looked rather different compared to the people in the cages. Her hair was clean and shiny and her natural white dress didn't have a spot on it.

"If only I would be back home and everyone would be back to normal again, there people wouldn't judge me for my face nor my accessories, there they would know the real me." Isis thought.

As Blitz snored on, he dreamed about life, with his parents accepting him for his own religion. Then suddenly something was caught in his throat, and he abruptly woke up. He had tried to eat the darn stone! He choked and coughed, sputtering. He spit the stone back out, and caught it with his hands. Wiping off the spit, he noticed how magnificient it truly was, and couldn't break his gaze from it. The more he looked at it, the more he was awed by its beauty and brilliance. His concentration was broken when he heard much conversation from the other slaves.

Not really eavesdropping, Blitz heard many a tales. He heard the sliver-tongued Leryn snap at the sympathetic young girl. He heard one of his fellow Gafyn's reprimend her about something he was quite unsure of. He noticed the diminished knights awkward movements, and the wretched Gafyn who had come to him. He heard, or thought he heard, the footsteps of a small rabbit, just like the one he use to own, just not as slow or dimwitted. It was warm, and protective of whatever or whoever was in the cell next to his. He noticed that he still was clutching the rock, in which he had no idea of its meaning, or power.

He saw small glimmers, all over the dank boat bottom, and each of a different color and magnificence. He dispeled these thoughts, as he guessed them to be sparkles from the sun hitting the ocean, in which he heard gives off a luminous and majestic view. He sat there, dreaming of the open ocean, and what it would be like to discover Fryn.

as stunned as Saint was, he decided to look around a little bit.
he noticed another Gayfyn looking wide eyed at hiim, and then look at the rabbit before it hopped back into the robed one's cell..
Saint notice that the Gayfyn has a rock in his hand..
*i must be dreaming*
he took out the amulat again and held it between his face and the Gayfyn..
*it cant be*
his back felt a sudden throbbing pain as the Gayfyn whom he had spoke to earlier hit him in the spine, it temporarily stunned him enough for the Gayfyn to grab the amulate out of Saints hand.
"teech yah naht' tah le'me pe'ek "
With Saints head still stuck behind the bars, and the Gayfyn just dumbstruck (pun intended) as he stared at the amulate.
Saint recovered and pulled his head out of the bars. The Gayfyn didnt notice at all..
Saint walked up to him and snatched the amulate from his hands, then sucker punched him in the chin, which send the Gayfyn sprawling to the floor wrig;ing about as his brain tryed to reco-ordinate itself. at least some of those sword lessons had built up the muscles in his arm..
"next time you do that" he looked down at the Gayfyn "it wont be a sucker punch"..
he walked over to the bars. his little ruckus had caused little attention, but it suited him fine, as long as he had his amulet back..
he sat down, his back leaning on the bars..
some trip this was turning out to be..

Halcin awoke with someone leaning on her cage. The person was well dressed, and obviously free. But that wasn't what interested Halcin when she woke up. It was her Spirit Guardian, a Snow Hare. She found herself frowning slightly at the Hare, for it was starting to get a little to skinny for her liking.

She glanced around, looking for something the hare could eat, but instead other things caught her eye. There were others, she knew; most were from Gayfyn, but as she did not know them she did not speak to them. The glitter of gems all around. She reached into her pocket to take it out, suddenly realising what it had done.

She stared at it in detest, before sticking it back into her pocket. It was this that had brought her unfortune; the gods were not pleased with her. So they had punished her. She deserved it really, what right had she to go wandering off, and getting lost, and then bringing back a beautiful stone?

She kept the stone, though. Perhaps, someday, she could get rid of it, and earn once more the favor of the gods. But not now, she knew. Not now, it was too early. She had to accept the punishment the gods gave her; and without complaining.

She glanced about once more, and found nothing for the hare to eat.

The anger inside Isis bubbled up and her cheeks heated up as the man spoke to her in a mocking way. She rose up from the floor and swallowed her pride as she walked up the stairs with light steps and onto the deck.

As she got up bright sunlight shone upon her face, sand blew up from the dunes and onto the deck, which made Isis feel more comfortable and at home. The great and sandy landscapes of Vsksou laid ahead of her and put Isis mind at ease. The fact that Malak was standing on the higher part of the deck regarding her closely didn't bother her, she was a promised gift to someone else, and she would not have to stand the sight of him for much longer.

Isis regarded as the other slaves walked onto the small boat that would take them to the shore. The man spoke to her again, but this time she kept her temper.

"I am sure your chief will gain a lot more respect for you as you handle his most precious item so well." she said out loud to make sure that the man would feel uncomfortable being in the eyes of Malak.

"However, I'd rather be with the slaves, among those equal to me, than to be accompanied by scum like you and Malak." she added and walked onto the rowing boat floating steadily in the water.

Isis sat herself down on a small bench on the boat brushing the sand of her dress. Her hair made wav motions in the light wind that was blowing. She looked at the crown in the boat, and could spot some familiar faces nearby that she had seen down where the cages and cells were.

Magnolia listened to Lery talk to the free girl, and watched another slave punch an old Gayfyn. She didn't mind however, she knew that these people would all be different, so there was no point in arguing the ways of her religion to them. After all, they would surely be dedicated to their own religions.

When Magnolia heard footsteps descend the stairs she pulled the blanket tightly around herself, and Zelda clung to her back, sharp claws digging into her skin. She quietly stood and walked out of the cell, the blanket serving as a robe to hide her clothes. For she had managed to keep her clothes in relatively good condition, and hoped to escape her new "master" as soon as possible.

Magnolia cautiously stepped into the rowing boat, and sat next to the free girl. The only thing that truly scared Magnolia was water, she didn't know why, it just did. She was comforted when Zelda climbed over her shoulder and sat in her lap. Petting her absent mindedly, she took careful looks at the other slaves that climbed onto the small boat. Many of them were Gayfyns, and she could see and sense their spirit animals. And strangely, many of the others wore amulets, various colours glinting from hidden pockets and places around necks.

Without looking at the girl next to her Isis could sense her worry.

"Don't be afraid, the waters of Vsksou aren't harmful, they are a blessing to the people and should thereby be though of as valuable gifts from above." she said calmly.

A large wave brushed against the small boat and Isis caught some water in her hand, she then turned to the girl next to her and grabbed her hand, letting the water fall down on it.

"It is as you can feel a great power and value in everything, you just need to sharpen your senses." she said and smiled at the girl.
