Hey Adam, I'm on broadband and it still seems faster to me. But then again my service has always been pretty slow for a cable modem. (it's the only broadband I can get here)

Amazing what browsers can do these days. :>

To paraphrase my post regarding the yellow bar and shops:
Quote:
EDIT: You guys fixed the shops! YAY and Thanks!

2nd biggest complaint: having 2 banners + lots of wasted space at the top. I think the introduction banner should be redesigned, made about 1/2 its current height, and incorporated into the yellow bar below the ad banner to conserve vertical space (and look cool too!). Yes, it would be a pain to redesign every one of those banners, for every game, etc. but it would be worth it. Some don't look so good anyway, for example the Snowager one with no black border, just slapped on the page.

I hate to only complain. 0:) Thank you Adam & Snarkie for posting here and using the feedback. I like the clock and I'm really looking forward to collecting themes.

Yay! Thanks! I'm not on dial-up, but I was a few months ago.

Ahh, the site runs perfectly! I must say, the new toolbar is nice, too.

Three cheers for Adam!

Hip Hip, Hooray!

Nice job.... the site is most definetely faster.... I was getting annoyed trying to move around the site and things took a long time to load, and I have a very fast computer, too!

Now the site basically loads two seconds after I click on something! Whoo Hoo! Thanks alot for doing that!

For me? Things were faster before you made them faster ... site's been taking anywhere from 30 seconds to over a minute for pages to load. Yes, on dial up, Yes, keep temp cache cleared. Some games seem even slower. Tried Kiko Match and it was like pulling teeth to get the squares to open - I had to 2x click on some of them.

Hopefully will get faster later.

I was wondering why it was so much faster at school. They have a T1 there, but it gets really bogged down during recess times when a lot of people are online.

I definetely support your view. Reducing the size of ads(if possible, since you already told us it's the standard industrial size) would make the rest of us MUCH happier :) Along with the faster loading for us dial up users as well!

A few hours ago it was lagging slightly for me (I have DSL btw), but now it's doing just fine. :) Its great that things will go faster for the dial up users.

Extraordinarily fast.

Anyway, you won't be giving the bid ad space to advertisers, will you? :P

Neopets is much better these days. No down for maintainence, no serious glitches...

[edit 03:43:08 PM NST] NO!!!! Musicmatch ads!!

No difference -- it's usually fast in CET (for a broadband connection, that is. Dial-up is faster now :) ).

(Adding mod_gzip also increases CPU cycles / request, which in turn can lead to the speed being reduced -- if the server is handling too many hits. But hey, looks bright so far.)

Its ok we have more than enough servers to handle the load, which incidentally is only a 5-10% CPU hit, so not too bad. Less network traffic is nice for us too :)
