Hehe. Inflation in a demand/supply economy with money being printed at a rate that exceeds it's destruction rate (people get more NP than is removed from the market (by things like quests, pet training, hidden tower...)). Anyhow, prices will generally keep on rising, unless someone finds a relatively inexpensive way to produce the rare items.

I once bought a hypno helmet in the space weaponry shop for about 200 np... but that is another story.

It's irritating, I'll tell you that. Morphing Potions' prices have shot up faster than a rocket, due to the rarity changes, and they won't be coming down. With Paint Brushes, the demand is at it's highest yet, and still climbing up, with the amount of new users joining.

It's a sword than swings both ways. If you want to change your pet's species, colour, or both, then you'll have to save a great deal of NP. On the other hand, if you're lucky, and have saved PBs or MPs, then their worth rises all the time. Great investment. (I'm hanging onto my two Green Zafara, one Red Aisha, and one Red Ixi MP/s for another year or so, until the price has risen nicely- nice for me, anyway)

I'm just curious, where lab maps around when PaintBrushes were that cheap?

If you think about it, ALOT of people have lab access, and when you have lab access, you must likly have painted pets.
Maybe the neopets team took that in account, and lowered the chances of getting a paintbrush... so it will seem like who ever has a painted pet must have some experience....

I think I got the lab at about 8k / piece while buying a halloween paintbrush at around 130k close to halloween.

I got my lab map 7-9k per piece. I bought my faerie paint brush a lot later for under 200k. Maybe 150k?

um, this may sound like a gloat or bragging, but it isnt, its just to add to the point.....

i can see the cool paintbrushes being expensive, like disco, snow, or the pb's that alter the pets shapes.... but the ones that are just colors or patterns used to be cheap... like striped, spotted, speckled... last I knew, the speckled paint brush was about 60k. Well, i won a spotted paintbrush, and went to sell it, and it was worth 200k! For a SPOTTED paint brush... isnt that crazy? Well, I like it, since I am the one who owns the paint brush, but i mean.... come on, spotted isnt even that cool of a color

I have a faerie poogle and I got the pb for lik 75k...dayum.

I remember I picked up a gold paintbrush from the auction house for 10k a couple years back, and various other paintbrushes like the solid colors for 7k-9k.
Man, I miss those prices. >.> They made me look rich.

Yeah. 47 months ago, white pbs were 7k. Now i don't know how much they're worth. And mypno helms are too expensive now. They're not even remotely worth it. Now i think i remember where i got my old one from. The treasure hunt thing gave space maps. I think i finished it and got a hpno melm amoung other things from it

Goodness gracious, I remember when Fire P/Bs were 6k NP. But you also have to keep in mind that 6k was kind of hard to get back then, because restocking wasn't as prominent and the payout on the games was pretty low.. I mean, I was happy when I got 25 NP from Scorchy Slots back then, and totally floored when I won 250 NP! But now, it wouldn't phase me if I got 2500 NP from something.. It's really kind of sad, looking back!

But... Only a half year ago Orange PBS were 85k.. After the Grundo avatar, they are 800k.

the fruiot machine gives up paint brushes too with 17K Nps and other goodies...

its a pain for avvs, and avvs put up the price of paint brushes i like as well,

neoinflation i suppose. pity its so PAINFUL. but also i guess, thank goodness for the lab ray i now have 3! 2 activated, 1 in sdb

then again, alot of petpet paint brushes have dropped, i bought my ghost one for my gallery for 200k, now its a buyable item. same for glowing. grey, i bought mine for 7k but then again, petpet pbs aren't the same as pet pbs

i find the faerie one the most painful waa!! i love faerie pets, now the only way i can get one is through lab ray, same thing goes for baby

yes, you can only get baby if you buy the stupid pb, but what really bites me is how it was 200k, and i ended up paying the 600k for it that bankrupted me all for an avv... it was the only worthwhile thing to buy from the ht,
