Jubjub have some great species weapon. I used to have a Jubjub and I use Jubjub Helmet of Doom and Mighty Jubjub Sword. The Lab changed my species and I still can't replace those two without spending millions.

I should have some NP's coming (around 1.5m), then I will need Angus or somebody's advice of waht to buy. My best weapons only have 6 icons attack, I think that is pretty low for the level of my pet (strength, defence and HP are each around 120).

I have about 6.6 mill...should I buy the ultra bubble ray or sword of the air faerie? I'm trying to get back into the battledome.

get the bubble gun, both weapons r kinda random but the bubble gun is the better out of the two. you might wanna consider rainbow clockwork grundo, 3mill for up to 20dmg. U might wanna wait a bit to see if it gets downgraded.

Are there any other weapons I should get instead?

mat wut other weapons do you have? If you dont have any others to use then you shuldn't just get a bubble gun, you should spend you money on an entire set. If that money is set aside for just two main weapons consider getting a fungus ray and a bow of destiny. The ray duz 11 icons and the bow duz 13. If that money is just saved up to get one good weapon, and you already have the rest of ur set then you have two choices, either just get the bubble gun, or save up even more for sword of skardsken. Both choices are good, just depends on ur patience.
