I got to about chapter 60 the last time before schoolwork caught up with me, so I have a long way to go before I'm up-to-date about anything. The dubbed anime finally made it here to Singapore though, on TV (okay, the VCDs have been out for ages), but it's just in the very, very early chapters, and I'm not too fond of dubs.

Nah, I think it's kind of like when Naruto let himself get stabbed by Kabuto so that he could get close enough to use Rasengan the first time -- except I think Kakashi's sacrifice might be a bit bigger than Naruto's was.

I expect at least another 3 chapters of fight, though. Kakashi's a bigger character than Jiraiya, after all -- his final battle should be at least as epic.

What I don't get is how can these rogue ninjas be as strong or stronger than these elite ninjas like Kakashi who have trained heavily in a schooling environment.
