It loads up fine in IE, although I just checked and it doesn't load in Opera or Netscape either. Just IE. o_O Now I'm even more confused..

I'm using Firefox 1.0 and I can view PPT just fine. Try tinkering around with the Options.

You see, I don't know computers that well, basically I don't know what an OS is.

OS = Operating System.

Windows XP, 98, etc.

Oh.

Mine is Windows XP.

I'm sorry. :P

Hmm...if you're running only 2%, that means you have a lot going on your computer. Probably all internal programs and stuff visible by Start-Run-MSConfig.

Soujiro, you have more XP experience than me, is MSConfig do-able on XP and if so, what should he turn off? (I know stuff like MusicMatch Quicklink and Microsoft Word Works can be turned off. :))

You can use "msconfig" in Windows XP. However, removing startup items doesn't clear hard disk space.

Now, since you're using Windows XP, Scandisk is known as CHKDSK. Type "chkdsk" when you go to Start > Run.

But what I was thinking is if he's at 2% (it's making me think resources, though, which I could be wrong), MSConfig might help. But I'm thinking with 2%, he's talking about his resources.

I only have about 1% free space to operate on. Go figure.
And it says 'Windows cannot find the file name' for Scandisk.

Scandisk is accessible through My Computer -> Right click on Disc -> Properties -> Tools -> "Check Now..."

You need to
(a) Remove a lot of applications from C drive
(b) Move Temporary Files folders onto another disk (if present).
(c) Buy a larger disk

He said he couldn't find Scandisk. The program was renamed Chkdsk in 2K/XP.

Make sure you run Disk Cleanup too. Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup. Remove any temporary files you can find.

I'm having the same problem as gijinkagato again, as it is still Gmail, but it doesn't work in IE also. :(

I started Disk Cleanup and I left it on for an hour and a half. When I started it, it was a little done and when I came back (an hour and a half later) it was still at the same spot. I ended up closing it.

What should I do now?

Ammer: *looks at your sig* it comes out on my bday :P
But anyway, do you have tremendous temp files? if so it may be hanging while trying to delete them.

I forgot your birthday was so close to mine. Anyway, a simple way to delete temp. files (this works with ME, I'm unsure on XP.) is go to Start - Find, type in Temp files, open the folder and delete the contents. Do the same for cookies (except type in cookies) and don't delete the index file. Your computer will go crazy.

This might not be right since I'm on Linux and most of the time I always tell XP users "I'm sorry".

That will take FOREVER if you have lots of files in there. I once had over 60,000 files in my Temp. Internet files.
What I would do, is open up an IE window (if you use IE), go to Tools, Internet Options, and Delete Files. Do this before you go to bed (as long as no one else uses the computer). Unless you have more temp files than I did, it should be done by the time you go back on tomorrow.
Hope that helps.

I'm not saying actually by each one. I mean't to say hold down your left mouse button and drag until the file ends. Forgot to say that. But that is faster.
