The Ogrin's eyes widened, "The pound?!" Surely this much be some sort of mistake... it had to be a mistake, right? Surely his owner would come for him... surely he had an owner. He had an owner, didn't he? He didn't remember. He couldn't remember anything. Vin looked at Xantcha, though she was some what difficult to see because of her dark colour. "Hey, you're-" but he was cut off by the Draik's speech. "I'll spit on you old man!" he retorted, and immediately he shot a stream of spit towards the old Draik. Apparently Vin had a bit of a temperment.

The spit missed by a mile, as Denis was still in his cave. "See? Told you they spit." He went out of his cave to clean the spit off his cage.

"Uhh...ok..." Ryan looped that scene over and over in his head and started to chuckle. "Does anyone know how these darn doors open??" He tugged on his bars and tried to stick his head through them.

"Don't even try. You will only hurt yourself." Tyronius said, licking a paw. "You just have to make sure that you look spectacular for when the people come in." He went back to bathing his back, his contempt for everyone else growing with each hour.

"Ugh. Theres gonna be a way! How do the humans do it then??" Ryan observed the side of his door. He sighed and sat down to think.

"Apposeable thumbs" Denis said to Ryan. He climed back into his cave, presumibly to sleep. Interestingly enough, a TV could be heard from in there.

He heard a worker come in, and she walked towards his door. While she unlocked his door to refill his knocked over food bowl, he observed the the lock and how she opened it. As she was walking towards the door, Ryan noticed that she dropped the keys!

"Hey guys I think I figured something out...kinda." He whispered.

Squeeeeeeeek. One of the doors opened and a distinct screech was heard. "New kid?" one of the pets replied. "YES! And it's getting kinda hard to hold her down!" yelled a guard. "Stupid korbats" muttered a chubby fellow that had to hold the korbat down to keep her from escaping. eventually they threw the bat into her cell, as she fell onto the hard, unforgiving floor. The blue korbat quickly recovered and tryed reaching the cell door before they closed it, but she was too late. She was locked in the cell. "LET ME OUT!" she sreeched. The girl started to attack the bars. Biting, kicking, scratching, she did whatever crossed her mind. She had to get out! The attacks continued on for 30 minutes, about the time that some pets probably would have given up. 30, 45, 60 minutes. by that time shewas panting, literally holding onto the bars to keep from collapsing. Her rage turned to sorrow as she was laying on the ground, sobbing. Slipping in and out of conciousness and giving up on it and slowly letting unconciousness slip in...

Just at that moment, the blue korbat woke up.
Stupid sloth. "Makes me his servant and leaves me here to rot....Stupid." she replied, scowling.

Well, her story is kind of complicated. You see, she was born in a normal family on the outskirts of neopia central. But appenantly they knew a dark secret. So dark, that Sloth has them captured and she never learned about who she was. So she just called herself Starlight. Or just Star. When she was captured along with her parents, her parents death wish was to not kill their daughter. So, he just decided to keep her as a slave...untill she came of age. Which was that day. Starlight was now 13. Back to the pound!

Starlight kept on muttering things untill lunch came.
"You're new ain't ya?" said the chubby fellow that helped lock her up.
Star then gave him a death glare and if you saw closely enough, you'd see a raging fire in her eyes. She gave a sound that was like a growl mixed in with a yell. That guy just walked off with a frightened expression. She saw what looked like a pompous xweetok looking at her.
I hate the "cute" pets. Stupid jerks... "What? Can't a pet eat without the world gazing at her?". She popped a food pellet into her mouth and chewed on it. Taste better than sloth food, that's for sure...

The old draik turned off his TV and crawled out of his cave. "Eh! A Korbat! Always fun little guys. Hey, kid, ignore the insane Xweetoc over there. He's after world domination or something like that. Idiotic mamilliam pets... Well, exept Korbats. I SUPPOSE their technically mammles... Anyway, welcome. What's your name, then?" Denis felt a kinship to other not-so-cute pets, such as himself. Mutant Draiks don't rate very high on the cuteness scale.

Star smirked a bit during the crazy squirrel part. It was the closest she came to laughing in a long time. Apperantly, mutant grundos don't have much of a sense of humor. "I'm Starlight. Just call me Star or Starry. I really don't mind." She would have shaken his hand, even if it was dirty. She'd seen worse. That is, if she could reach him. He seemed kind, that is, if you don't annoy him. "Hey, today's my birthday. I'm 13. And look. I got an upgrade!" She really DID get and upgrade. At least she had a warm, if not scratchy, cot. I mean, it's better than an iron bed in a cold metallic room in space, right? " You never told me your name. She poked her head out through the bars to view her new surroundings. She saw some interesting things. A Fire Xweetock grooming himself, a dark cage with some red eyes and fangs, a rainbow ogrin that looked a bit confused, and a red kougra with something in its mouth. Star had to squint to see it but, yes, it looked like, THE KEYS!

Oh my gosh. The keys! We can get out and finally live a normal life!
She thought. "Um. Draik? I don't have your name yet..." She said a bit sheepishly. "Denis" He said. "That kougra has the key!" She said, trying to be quiet enough so that the guards wouldn't hear.

I wonder what there is to do here. The young bat thought. She kicked a stone around. "Do we get any time out of these cells?" She tried asking someone. But they seemed busy doing their own thing.
So she just mingled. "Anyone else in here that wants to talk?!" she yelled to get it throught to the entire building.

The Ogrin silently watched the events happening in the pound. He had been quietly scoffing to himself about the terribly aimed spit shot but the new pet being thrown in the pound had taken his mind off things. All was quiet when the new pet shouted asking if anyone wanted to talk. The Ogrin lifted his head a little, “Hey there.” he said in a sort of monotone voice.
