Do you hate/dislike the word "panties?"

My aunt is as black as midnight, and would give me a funny look and a stern word if I ever called her "Of African origin"
Because she finds it offensive to her ancestry.
Now ofcourse the word is used because it is unnofensive, but still, she gets offended.

Somone will be offended by everything you ever do, intention or no.
Course with some things it may be hard to find said person, but still, I immagine there is somone who is deeply offended by the word "Panties".

It's not offensive to me. I just find the word too childish to be used to refer to a grown woman's apparel.

I've never thought about words for underclothing in this light before. I just take the names as a state of existance. Why be offended by a name for something? A name is a name.

What is in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

I agree. Also, cccasionally, depending on who's speaking, it can sound perverse. Am I offended by it? No, I'd just rather not use the word myself and I'd much prefer it if those around me also didn't but I wouldn't bother to argue with anyone about it.

Panties, the word scares me. :talktohand: Ewwww, get them away! Just call them anything else but panties. It sounds like a word the CEO of Victorias Secret made up, except they didn't (I think)

I say both panties and underwear, but I say panties more often.

If I'm referring to a specific kind, though, I'll just say 'thong' or 'boy shorts' or whatever.

What's wrong with the word panties? o__O
