Pity, I wanted to save the comics before they got removed :(
Ah, well, at least they got removed. If only I could remember the usernames of those two...I remember the Calvin and Hobbes rip-off's username had two underscores outside of their name. The Garfield rip-off had an underscore and a two-digit number at the back of their username, but I just can't think of what the names actually were...

I neomailed the person who did the Calvin and Hobbes ripoff, and she replied with an extremely polite apology saying that she had emailed TNT asking them to take it off. She told me she had just wanted to see how easy it was to get into the Times, and she is sorry for it now.

Don't neomail any of them with more hatemail; I daresay they've got enough of it by now.

It just agravates me with "testing waters" as a reason for submitting something into the NT (even something like those comics), it just seems that it could have been reserved for some better comics. I see this cycle as a waste of everyone's time in the end.

You know what I have to say to that?

Bull Crap....

"Oh no! I got caught! Lemme just make some lame excuse on how I wanted to test out how easy it is to get into the times!"

if i would steal a comic, i would do the same thing actually, but i wouldn't send in an exact copy :P

truly, i think he/she thought that nobody would figure it out. Let's think... of 81,705,560 players, i think atleast one of them got the joke :P

I remember another garfield ripoff, I just don't remeber were it was...
When I read the first comic from this week I just knew it was from garfield even if I hadn't read it, it was just garfield style..
It just annoys me that people submit these things, and what more annoys me is that it got in so easily, 2 got in, amazing.. :x

in defence of the neopian times editor, it's quite impossible to see every punchline and every comic strip. jokes are regurgitated every now and then too. the punchlines are perhaps unoriginal but i guess the comic strips are still drawn by themselves? moreover, some people may think it is alright if they apply a punchline in a neopets related comic strip. nevertheless, i am in agreement that originality is important when submitting to the NT

I'm a little PO'd. Why? Lets take several of the comics in the NT this week:

http://neopets.com/ntimes/index.phtml?s ... 8&week=153

http://neopets.com/ntimes/index.phtml?s ... 7&week=153

The first one, with the kyrii, is a DIRECT COPY of a recent garfield comic, in which he says those exact same things!

The second one is a almost direct copy from Calvin and Hobbes, in which instead of a super attack pea, calvin says he'll use his flamthrower on them. (and of course it's hobbes, not a pink kadoite next to him.)

how could TNT let copy-cat comics(plaugerism actully) into the NT? :x

Yes I noticed that too. They ruined the Calvin and Hobbes joke. Calvin and Hobbes rocked. I've seen many others in past comics too. I hope the get caught; and get a mind of their own.

I saw a Seinfeld episode about this once....Elain ripped off a Ziggy Comic by mistake....

Guys, if you think it's wrong report them, nothing is stopping you...The only thing stopping copy-kittens like that IS you!
