Atalanta creep quietly around the gate that lead outside of her fathers palace. She took one last look over her shoulder and spied the track she had won so many footraces on. At least she wouldn’t have to run another race like that again she thought to herself. She shifted the weight of her small satchel to make it more comfortable and absent mindedly patted it to confirm to herself that it was indeed well packed.

She waited, very soon it would be time for the guards to change shifts, and that was when she had planed to make good her escape. There was no expression of regret on her face, only a determination to leave what she had be forced into for the past two years.

The movement of feet brought her action back to the present, it was time for the change of guard! She readied herself, when the men gathered around each other to share a bit of news, Atalanta burst from her hiding spot with her unmatched speed. She managed to knock one guard into two other men causing them to fall to the ground as she past. She ran fast as the wind, leaving nothing but a small dust trail behind her.

Distantly she heard the sounds of alarm but even that faded as she continued on her way. She allowed a small smile to appear on her face. She was free! Free to choice a life for herself and not one her father would have for her.

Her plan was simple. She would run, she would run strait to Athens itself if she had to!

Cerberus’s ears perked. He lifted his nose to the air, and soon after the rest of his body. Now he stood readied beside the gates. A new soul was approaching Hell. The giant dog felt the presence of the newly dead as it fell farther and farther down the tunnel to damnation. This time it was a female’s spirit… had lived about thirty earth years. Killed by suicide… had driven a large rock into her own skull. Moments after Cerberus had her information, the deceased female appeared in front of him. Ghostly eyes widened on the woman’s pale, transparent-like face. The screams of the damned flooded her ears. Surely life on earth was not as bad as this, but it was too late for that sort of thinking now. The soul attempted to cover her ears, which proved useless. Cerberus stood behind the spirit. It was time to herd the lady into the gates.

Zeus smiled, he was happy that his beloved creation accepted his offer. He knew Pegasus wouldn't decline, however he was uncertain if she truly wanted too.

"If you really want to do this than please go now. She needs guidance," Zeus said as he patted her head slowly.

"Zeus! Zeus!" yelled a deep voice nearby.

Zeus looked up, he saw Apollo on a dark blue chariot with a red lining flowing from the top and all the way down to the black smoke wheels spinning ever so slowly in the air. The wind and horses did the work, the wheels were simply there to look pretty. The horses were a gift from Dionysus (God of the Fertility of Nature). Dionysus gave him the gift of flying horses due to the fact Apollo saved his livestock which he was hearding for his mother, Semele (Mortal). From than on, Apollo cared very much for the horses and will attend to their every need.

Apollo himself, was the God of the Sun. Each morning and evening, he would take his chariot about and carry the sun either into the air or down into the sea. Apollo wears a golden helmet which enrobes his face, which was of a rosy colour. Apollo wears a red Spartan uniform with a golden lining trimming the sides. His shoes are also from Sparta, a gift from Hercules (Ruler of Thebes). Apollo is a handsome young man, clean shaven and carrying either a lyre, or his bow and arrows.

"What is it Apollo?" asked Zeus as he raised an eyebrow.

Apollo yealed back on the rope attached to his horses and the chariot began to slow down. He carefully positioned his chariot on top of a cloud and stepped off.

"Zeus, I have some news" said Apollo as he took of his helmet revealing his long blonde hair.

"What news?" asked Zeus.

"The Olympics are coming. You know what that means." spoke Apollo as he grinned.

"Heroes. Yes, I know. Heroes will be signing up for the Underworld part of the Olympics. I'll be sending Pegasus here to help a Heroess named Atalanta. I would like to see how far Pegasus can get her through the Underworld without being killed. And plus, I have a small hunch she might do something great," explained Zeus as he patted Pegasus on the head once more.

Helena continued on, looking out over the scenery with some pleasure. It really was pretty, not dull compared to her old farm town. Many thoughts, however, disrupted her.

Sighing, she looked behind her, wondering if she should have left. Yes. This was the right thing to do. Neither of us would have been happy, our lives would have been a living Hades. Both of us knew it. He wouldn't leave, so I did.

She nodded to herself, and now her thoughts became happier.

Athena tapped her fingers against the table as if she was rather anxious. Suddenly she rose up which made even her owl Ibid to become a bit startled.

"I can't just simply sit here and do nothing, for goodness sake Ibid, I am a goddess, I should be doing something of value!" she said seeming almost angry.

Ibid regarded Athena with his big eyes and made some minor who-ing noises. He then flew up onto Ahena's shoulder and nibbled on her ear in a friendly way.

"Come to think of it, I really should go and visit my half-brother, and check what he is up to. He can simply never come to his sences when it comes to war. Athena sighted and stroke Ibid's back a few times. Without any further notice she vanished into thin air leaving her palace empty.

It didn't take long for her to appear at Ares headquarters. She looked around at all the monuments glorifying Ares himself and the violence of war. Athena frowned and muttered something to herself as she knocked lightly on his palace gates.

"He'd better be here, we do not want to travel in unnecessary causes now do we?" she asked Ibid whose eyes had even gotten wider as he regarded his surroundings.

Pegasus shook her head happily as Zeus patted it, bidding both the King od Gods and the newly arrived Apollo farewell before taking again to the skies on her pale wings. Her form grew smaller as she winged out of sight; making a beeline for the heroess Atalanta.

Pegasus flew straight and true, and came within seeing distance of Atalana quickly. She watched the girl as she darted away from the richly decorated (and guarded) palace. She marveed inwardly at the girl's speed. She'd certainly have no toruble winning any footrace.

Pegasus halted a moment; wings beating silently to keep her in one place. Just how should she go about introducing herself to the girl?
She decided to just play it by ear, despite the fact that she'd never really done anything like this. She arrowed forwards again; her wingbeats silent and almost undetectable to anyone below. As she drew nearer the girl she folded her wings and went into a steep dive. She whirled around, coming out of the dive with perfect timing to land gracefully before the girl.

Atalanta was well away from her fathers palace by now, and with that much space between her and him, she decided to slow her pace down to more of a jog. Thoughts of where she wanted to go began to fill her head.

Then it happened, almost to quick for Atalanta to react, a wings horse landed with such flourish ahead of her, Atalanta momentarily stunned almost forgot to stop…almost. She finally managed to connect her mind with her feet and with much dust flying in all directions she managed to stop just short of running into the magnificent animal. Breathing hard, she took a few steps back not quite sure what was going on.

“Wha…What… in…the…name…of…Zeus…”

Any further statement was lost in her attempt to regain a normal breath after such a quick stop.

Pegasus shook her head as though in amusement of the girl's confusion. She took advantage of Atalanta's attempt to breathe nomally in order to explain.

"What in the name of Zeus," she said, voice clear in the confused girl's head, Is I, Pegasus. Zeus has sent me to help you.

"Oh come now, we must meet with Hades," said a very misty voice which in fact was Atropos, who somehow was always in charge.

"I'm coming! I'm coming!" replied Clotho, always following behind Atropos.

"Where's Lachesis?" questioned Atropos as she tightened the her gray hood on her head, making her face darker.

"She's coming, Lachesis!" yelled Clotho raising her bony hands to her old tainted mouth.

"I'm here," said an annoyed Lathesis as she joined the duo.

Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos are the Three Faiths or the Godessess of Destiny. Clotho, the spinner, who spun the thread of a person's life, Lachesis, the apportioner, who decided how much time was to be allowed each person, and Atropos, the inevitable, who cut the thread when you were supposed to die. These 'women' were never seen without their dark gray cloaks covering their entire body. There faces were rarely seen however if a special occasion were to arise, their faces would pop out of their dark coma.

"Here we are at the Gates of the Underworld," said Atropos as she studied the enormous architecture.

"Just as I was getting used to the phrase 'Gates of Hell', Hades goes off and renames it 'Gates of the Underworld'. Somebody should rename him. How about Pluto?" asked Lathesis surveying the other two faiths.

"How about be quiet? We're here on an appointment, not a night in the town," snapped Atropos as she glared at Lathesis with her dark red eyes.

"...If you call this a night in the town, I'd hate to see where you go to play bingo,"

{{OOC: So sorry to take so long to post, Thursdays and Fridays are two terrible days at work for me. And Saturday I had to move boxes, and in so doing I hurt my back a bit and have literally laid in bed all day reading, lol }}


Atalanta gave a slight jump at hearing a voice without actually hearing a voice. She had managed to get her breathe under control quickly, thanks to her practice in running, and was now trying to make her mind make sense of what was happing to her. The young woman now blankly looked upon the creature before her.

Pegasus it had named itself to her, and old memory of a story told by a fire vaguely played at the corners of her mind. And now, here that fabled creature stood before her, sent by non other than the King of Gods himself!

“Why would such a great and noble God as Zeus want to help one such as I?”

She shook her head ever so slightly still in disbelief. Zeus was not a God to be trifled with, and one that did not meddle in the life of mere human’s lightly. Atalanta was visibly still trying to process what was happing to her was real and now a fire side story.

Pegasus's voice took on a bit more serious tone.

"You, Atalanta, are not the mere mortal you seemt o think you are. You are a hero. Or, rather, a heroess. Zeus has sent me to help you through the Underworld."
