Have you gotten the mad scientist as a battledome opponent yet? Reload the second lab ray page (the ones where your pets try to talk you out of zapping them) -- after awhile, you'll have him to face in the battledome. One of his attacks changes your pet's gender. I accidentally zapped my lutari and turned him into a girl. I was almost in tears until I found out about this. Took like 15 minutes of reloading non-stop... and ONE battle to turn him back into a boy.
