From the main page. How can it be free if some people are paying.

SO much adomosity against Premium players. *sighs* You know, most of us are not snobs, and actually there was an extremely long board about this on the boards...the majority of Premium players are 18+ (at least the ones on the board). But hey, I'm not here to defend my Premium status...so I think I'll just look down at Fidds from my cloud of the gods. :P ^^

I hate elitism, and this only encourages it.

I know, it's not fair! Even though I, myself, am not on premium I see nothing wrong about them. They're regular people. They just happen to be bigger addicts. :P

Whoa.

I am a huge addict.

Yes, I have no life. I'm on Neo like every day for at least 6 hours.

And I don't have Premium.:P So the most addictive players aren't the ones who have Premium.

I have the premium neopets package but I don't pay $8 just for that. I pay $15 a month for the internet service and all of that comes with it.

Anyway - I hope that neopets doesn't go too far with what they give to people who paid for the premium package. There are other game sites that do that and it does seem unfair. Though I don't think it is unfair to give them something. No banner up top, email, a few other things.

I played neopets for about 6 months before I got the premium and I do not think that I have gained any real advantage at gaining neopoints than I had before.

Yeah, at least premium members don't have like free stat training or extra lab zaps per day or infinite score sends or an entire extra premium-reserved world on the explore map or something. Its almost scary just thinking about it :o

Ok, so I can try to look at this from both sides and make a fair assessment, at least for myself, I have signed up for the 15 day trial.

Yes, I got the neomail av - but I already had that. Yes, I got 1k np, I can get that playing 1 game of, say, Kiko Match. No random events. There is the "premium" board, but it's nothing special, really. The nice thing - so far - is no begging, attempted scamming or chain letters.

The best thing? No banner ads! I can't tell you what that means to me and my computer. Between my physical disabilities and being on dial up this really does make a difference. The site is running a bit faster for me, pages aren't taking upwards of a minute to load, my cursor isn't going goofy and I'm not having to delete those adware cookies constantly.

And I'm not constantly having to close my eyes, or hang onto the edge of my chair to keep from falling over dizzy and with a raging headache.

Does this mean I'll continue when the trial's over? I don't know right now. It really IS expensive, especially since you can't have your other accounts at least be ad-free - it is for just one account. And I'll have to look at my limited budget. I am going to take a wait and see attitude and use this to the fullest during the free trial.

On mine you can have your other accounts ad free. I don't know if it is because I have the internet or what. There is a user admin link on the bottom of premium.neopets.com and I just added the other account names to it.

(edited to clarify what page I was talking about)

:( They have their own board.

Oh well. Like I care. Pssh...

And their own avatar? Is it neomail addict? Well....I know someone who got it without having premium and getting it randomly. I'm not very sure though...

Yeah, I know....I hardly ever post on here. But just had to add my $.02.

I've been on Neo for over 2 years now, and it's sad to me to see where they're going. I play both on there and PP, and lately, I've spent more time on PP than I have Neo(though I'll be the first to admit that PP's news-thing was tacky). Here is why:

First, they ruined restocking, and pretty much made it to where you HAD to cheat to get anywhere.

Then, they started freezing MANY people I know, for no reason at all.

Then, we got a HUGE ad banner, with ads that have NO BUSINESS on a kid's site.

And now, they're charging for Premium services. Ok, PP has stuff you can get by donating, but it's just that....donating. Entirely optional. And you know what? I donate to PP every now and then, because I support their ideals and such. But I could never give money to Neo. IMO, they've become completely focused on making money and mechandising, and have forgotten why they made the site in the first place. Our importance, as the users, have been replaced with plush toys and t-shirts.

I've only been going on Neo now to do Lab and dabble in the war. It's just disappointing. :(

Wow, another neoboard for me to not visit, what a shame

Yeah, it sucks that you can now buy advantages on the site, but as far as I can see they don't get aything thats worth me getting worked up over.

The thing is NOT that there is a elite service, but that they are gettting an upper hand now.
