Day 2, Matched 0 - BLB! , 5k

Bummer. Early BLB. Sigh.

Also bummer. Did not get an email stating I'd won any NC from the giveaway, which apparently went out this morning. Ah, well.

Nope. Continuing the zero streak.

Day 4, Matched 0, 5.5k... Total: 14,000

...and Hilary is here. Fortunately, it's down to a Tropical Storm this morning.

Something different, for a change.

Hope you keep safe, Blue! TS's aren't usually an issue, though. Unless they park over you and dump a TON of water on you. (I'm talking about you, Allison.)

It's been mostly light to moderate rain all day with just a few intervals of heavy rain.

Day 5, Matched 0 - BLB :( ... 9k

Matched 0: 5 (23,000)
Matched 2: 0 (0)
Matched 3: 0 (0)
Matched 4: 0 (0)
Gift Boxes: N/A
BLB: Day 5

Total: 23,000

Lowest with Glitch: 352,375
Low on Record: 451,375
High on Record: 464,750 (2x)

They're calling it the Hurriquake, now. Try that one, Florida! :roflol:

Made it through ok, thankfully. The rain was steady all day, but not all that bad in my area. Maybe 3" inches overall in 24 hours. There were enough lulls to let most of the water run off between the heavier rains. Barely noticed the earthquake.

Glad to hear things are OK there, Blue.

Random fact: Believe it or not, there are actually earthquakes recorded in Florida, too...just very rarely. There was one out near Cuba and Jamaica back in 2020 that was felt in southeast Florida. It was kinda a big deal. However, I don't know if there've ever been hurricanes and earthquakes at the same time in Florida. I think most of Florida would probably prefer it to stay that way. Besides, the hurricane memes are bad enough. And the hurricane cakes at Publix. Because Florida.

I believe it. It would be interesting if the interval between earthquakes in Florida is similar to the interval between Tropical Storms in California. Of course, the interval between earthquakes in California is much more frequent than Hurricanes/Tropical Storms in Florida. Fortunately, the majority of the earthquakes are minor in scale.

I've personally felt one earthquake (though friends have felt ones I slept through). They're rare and usually at 3 or below here. The one I felt, I was sitting on my bed, and my thought process went like this: I'm home alone and not doing laundry, and (*checks ears*) it's not a train, and no one's breaking down the front door... Oh, it must be an earthquake!

We'd never had a tropical storm in Atlanta, and now we've had two in the past five years. I definitely know how to handle them a lot better than an earthquake! The biggest danger here is all the tall trees, as long as you hunker down and don't live in a flood zone (which my dad, who's an engineer, instilled in me is the most important thing to check, even before the crime rate).

I think I was visiting San Fran when there was a minor one, once. But I would've been pretty young, so...yeah. Other places I've lived don't really have them. Hurricanes, though, and TS's....been through my fair share of those. :P I actually had to go to work during Allison. Because there were just a TON of people out shopping when the parking lot was flooded to the point that I was soaked from my thighs down just trying to get in to work. That was one VERY unpleasant shift. And extraordinarily boring one, too. Also, my mother was furious that they made us come in. That was exciting, too....
