Be careful running the washer without the back attached. Definitely make sure the machine is "solid" with any panels removed, and be wary of exposed electrical. Definitely run it empty. A heavy, off-balance tub and a "weakened" frame can be dangerous. Good Luck!

Still raining, and the storm is by no means done with us yet. We're on the latter side now, still getting a lot of wind and some serious gusts. The worst of it was at around 4:30 am, but several things went down in our neighborhood in the last hour or so when the winds picked back up again. Bleh.

Storm is well past now and while there are still clouds, the sun is out, which makes me feel a lot better. No major damage. From what I can deduce (based on the fact that they were all on the ground together), we had a fence post cap fly off and managed to take out the light cover for the light next to our garage side door. If it hadn't landed on the large gravel, it might've survived (it's plastic) but it definitely cracked. I picked up the fence post cap and put it back on, and the light cover is at least temporarily back on until we can get out and get a new one. That appears to be it, though.

Sorry, just been busy! I still haven't done the washer thing. The living room ceiling started leaking from a new spot last night a few hours after the rain from Nicole hit us. (It's about a foot away from the old leak spot, coming from where the beam is that I think is below the wall in my bedroom, not too far off the vertical axis from where there were old water stains on the ceiling in my room from the attic.)

Anyway, 19k yesterday and 18.5k today.
