there was actually a debate on the hd last night about the whole emo/punk/goth thing and how emo shouldn't be considered "appropriate" for the site. There were some "goths" who chimed in that they found it insulting! to use a gothic shopkeeper to get an emo avatar, then a couple of "emo" people complained about the same thing, but in reverse because goth isn't emo/emo isn't goth. Yes, I stayed out of it, especially when they started talking about "punk"... I was in that scene when it was actually just starting many years ago and it was much more of an individual statement and not a "fad" or a label. I dislike any labeling of anyone.

I'm guessing the whole avatar disappears when you change and view your shopfront is kind of Neo's way of poking a bit of fun at the depressing emo-type theme.

Just change it back to your shopkeeper and don't visit your shopfront.... problem solved.

ok, this is REALLY dum. I hate usuls and I hate the look of goths. Combined I think it is just UGGGGGGGGGLY! OK, while I want this av, I am not willing to keep me shopkeeper as that thing just to keep an av.

My shop has a green faerie theme (green, not earth, don't ask) with an earth faerie as the shopkeeper. I switched to the Usul to get the av, and then switched back to my earth faerie. I don't visit my own shop much. I have no reason to, I can take care of stocking and pricing from the stock page. The only reason I would need to visit it was if I had changed my decorations and wanted to check them, but as I have everything as I like it, I won't need to.
Therefore, I can keep the av without keeping the usul as my shopkeeper.
If you don't want to keep the usul as your shopkeeper, then don't, you'll just have to make sure that you don't go visiting your own shop. And if you do, you can always re-get the av.

Wow, okay, I'll try the "keep it Usul until tomorrow" thing, but if it doesn't change into permanent, then forget it, I can easily get the avatar whenever I want then, and I don't really like it anyways, so... And I like looking at my shop front, because I like my shop front, and I also view it every time I get a Faerie quest, so... Forget the avatar if it doesn't turn permanent.

I can't decide if I want to keep this av or not. It's ugly and I'll never use it, and I like my Desert Aisha shopkeeper, but I'm always checking up on my shop involuntarily (that's what I do mostly on Neo, just click around aimlessly ) As for the whole emo thing... ugh. HI IM EMO IM SO SAD BUT I DRESS IN BRIGHT BLINDING RAINBOW COLORS :D:D:D:D:D:D ¬_¬

Personally, I hate the avatar. I like Goths, but a HATE this goth usul...I hate the species actaully, except Mutant. =/ I like Ususki boy too....

Like heck I'll keep my Cellblock Gallery with that creepy thing looking at me when I stock my shop.

I'm just avoiding looking at my shop front and using my spare to check it when needed.
Really fun doing a KQ and seeing all these creepy Goth Usuls looking at me while I'm buying. Ugh...horrible. Horrible avatar. I actaully wouldn't have minded if they avatar came from the toy version, if there is one.

Yeah, if you want to keep the avatar,but not the shopkeeper, just do as Trenowden said. Plus, you can get it back easily.

I did that very thing - got the av, went and changed my av to that one, posted...then went and just changed my shopkeeper. Kept it. Went to the boards, posted a little answer to a question, went back to my shop, looked at the front - no more av.

This one just isn't worth having to constantly change your shopkeeper just to have another av on your list. If I'm changing the background or a couple of decorations or pricing things I'm not going to wait and log into my other account to go look at the shopfront to make sure everything's right, I do it immediately. If I've made a mistake I can fix it right away.

And it is unnerving to see all those goth usukis in everyone's shops!
