anyone know any good songs about mothers? i've got marriage on the brain, and one of my favorite things to do is ponder which songs would be the best for a wedding reception. but i just can't think of any good songs for a groom to dance with his mother. the only song i know is "mama" by boyz ii men, and it's just way too cheesy.

any suggestions?

I agree about the song. When I was very small, my sister, brother and I played "Mama" by Spice Girls on mother's day for my mom. She woke up to it and was like "Whaaa".

It's a fitting song for the occasion.

OR

"Perfect Fan" by Backstreet Boys.

Yes, shoot me but my sister (Yes, she had the major obsession with them) always played that song and it's about their moms. It fits the occasion as well.

Dave Matthews Band, Superman.

Well, there are some songs inspired by mothers, specifically by the Beatles...

Let it Be was written after Paul had a dream about his mom, hence "Mother Mary came to me." Julia was John's mom and he wrote the song of the same name.
