The softness of the night settles down
A cooling blanket upon the fire of my soul
Stained diamond with the tears
Ever falling.

The breeze whispers a song
A memory
The image of you burned into my mind
My heart.

You said we were just friends
That day upon the water.
And then I smiled softly
Looking away to hide my tears.

I've lived this lie long enough.
It's time to break away.
But I can't forget the feeling...
Can't let it go...

Why can't you see I love you?
Are we that far apart?
Drifting ever further
On the cherry blossom wind...

The morning breaks.
I've made my choice.
I'm going to let the sadness leave me...
Float away into the darkness...

And before anyone asks, NO, this poem is NOT about Yoh in any way, shape, or form. It's inspired by a book I'm writing, chapters of which may be posted at a later date.
