When going to the PPT main page, my virus scanner pops up with a Trojan virus. This happens every time I go to the main PPT site. I think it may be in one of the ads, I'm not sure. Does this happen with anyone else?

I don't go to the front page all that much o_O The ads come with the host, but because PPT's so big we have to use it.

I personally haven't noticed anything and I check the front page at least once a day. I have Norton running and that usually notifies me if there are any virus's anywhere, although if it is just one particular ad then there is a chance that I have been lucky enough avoid that!

Perhaps take a screenshot next time it happens and pm it to shoyru lover. :)

Its more than likely your anti virus's diagnosis is mistaken, mate. We wouldnt permit viruses on any PPT page :)

As said above, try getting hold of a screen shot next time and email it to Shoyru Lover/Yukio . His email address is on the main page under staff listings.

Are you sure it isn't coming from a spyware-induced popup? Those could be doing something.

:x This really makes me angry that this is happening. I have no spyware whatsoever on my computer, and my McAfee shows this and Internet Explorer makes a Information Bar notice, saying this site may require an ActiveX Control, "Free Browser Plugin?"

This only shows up when I go to PPT, and it does right after the page loads.

Here are some screenshots for your use! :)

Hmm, that's very strange. There's mixed responses that it does happen and it doesn't. I'll have a talk to my host and see what he can come up with. Thanks for the Screen Caps.

Well, it still is showing up...I don't know if this has to do anything with it, but my McAfee came with AOL...

If you have Windows XP Service Pack 2, do you see the information bar talking about the 'free browser plugin'?

Next, I will show you something I had for a while, that can block the ads from PPT so you don't see any of them at all.

First, in your browser, go to http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefoxImage

Then, go to
https://addons.update.mozilla.org/exten ... on=firefox
Image
Then, install that, that is the AdBlock Extension.

And then, go to PPT, (a lot of my ads were already blocked)

and click the AdBlock tab!

I only clicked the top banner ads about 5 times and it stopped them.

It works on Neopets, and any other site too! :)

I made this tutorial myself! :)
