I have been recently introduced to mashups, and I am in love with them.

Simply put a mashup is combining 2 different songs into one song. For a good example google the song "Smells like booty," which is a mashup of Destiny Child's "Bootylicious" and Nirvana's "Smells like teen spirit"

Anyone else share my love? <3

I think mashups are crap. They totally ruin the songs. But sometimes, very rarely, a mashup is good, such as Island in the Sun by Weezer and Yeah by Usher, that was the only ok one I've heard. The crappiest ones were the Linkin Park/Jay-Z ones. Ew.

Mashups are alright; I heard Evanescence's "Bring Me To Life" combined with Usher's "Yeah". It was an okay mix but not perfect.

I'm going to take a listen to the "Smells Like Booty".

Hahaha, Smells Like Booty? How terrible. But funny.

I've heard one of Travis' Writing to Reach You, Oasis' Wonderwall, Green Day's Boulevard of Broken Dreams, and Eminem's Sing for the Moment. It's really not bad, I enjoyed it quite a bit at first.

Like any form of music which is easy/cheap to create (see also: Dance music) there will be a few very good examples and then a huge raft of garbage.

Personally I find they're best when done just to poke fun - I still remember the inspired Teletubbies vs. Eminem mash-up they used to play on Radio 1 a couple of years back. Genius!

The 'Doctor Pressure' track (Mylo vs. Miami Sound Machine) which got to No.1(?) recently was quite good but frankly I'd rather hear the originals.

I hate Smells like Teen Booty I first heard it in a nightclub a couple of years ago and me and another girl shouted at the DJ lots

I have heard a few good ones though

With or Without Me - U2 vs Eminem

Ray Of Gob - Madonna vs Sex Pistols

King Of Wherever- Wamdue Project vs Shakira

There are others I can't remember them off the top of my head
