Considering I got two copies of Kelly Clarkson's CD "Breakaway", I have to exchange (They don't let me get the cash back) and I don't know what CD to buy. I'm contemplating a lot of CD's in my head, here there are,

"Hedley" - Hedley
"The Emancipation of Mimi" - Mariah Carey
"Unwritten" - Natasha Bedingfield
"I Am Me" - Ashlee Simpson

---

I know you lot hate my taste of music but I honestly don't know what to buy. If you can suggest some good CD's to buy or if the CD's I listed actually suck, please do not hesitate to post.

Hm, well, seeing as you seem to like a lot of female artists, have you ever heard Rilo Kiley? You just might like them. Then again might not. But if you want to give them a shot, I'd highly recommend the CD "More Adventurous."

Out of the ones you listed up there...I'd say Natasha Bedingfield. Hedley's really just a Billy Talent copycat with a rather blah single, but if you suddenly don't like Natasha, then I'd go with them. The other two are major avoids, with rather terrible reviews to boot. But to be honest, I also don't really like any of the CDs you chose up there anyway. :P

(^Hmm, maybe I should try listening to Rilo Kiley's stuff. I've heard good things.)

Actually, I like a lot of male artists. I've just heard about 3 or 4 songs by the above artists that I really like. And I never buy a CD which only has 1 or 2 songs I like.

But Rilo Kiley, what genre are they?

I have been listening to the leak at MTV. I like the songs but I'm still iffy on it.

Oh, I wasn't implying you didn't like male artists, I was just saying that from that observation I gathered you just might like them. Their genre, I'm not really sure.. alt-ish pop-ish rock, I guess, and some of their songs have a country vibe. Jenny Lewis' voice is absolutely beautiful, though, definitely one of my favorite female voices.

You may have heard their song Portions for Foxes at some point. I had, and didn't even realize it 'til I'd bought the CD. I'd recommend listening to that one, and if you like that, Does He Love You?, I Never, and The Absence of God. Those are probably my favorites off of that album.

Compared to those choices, I'd go with Hedley. Their song 'On My Own' is okay...

If you're looking for an altogether different sound I suggest you buy, umm... I dunno, lol, 12 Stones? :P

I have heard "Portion of Foxes"; I remember listening to it and I was very suprised that it was the same song. I'll listen to some more songs tonight.

As for 12 Stones, I don't really enjoy them per say.

I think you know I wouldn't go for any of them ;)

As you like female artists, some of my favourites:

Tori Amos- Anything, but Tales of a Librarian is a good start
Joanna Newsom- The Milk-Eyed Mender (though you'd want to hear some of her before)
Jolie Holland- Escondida (country-blues ish)
Ani DiFranco- Little Plastic Castle

Actually, have you tried Aimee Mann? Seems like it could be up your street. Bachlor No. 2 or Magnolias Soundtrack.

Mariah Carey. But, if I was to come up with something, whatever I said would be drowned out by my cousin yelling "Andy Hunter's Life".

I just can't live with that girl! XD

And she'd be drowned out even more by my yelling of John Reuben's The Boy vs. the Cynic. :P

Aside from that...Mariah Carey. ^^
