Morning Musume is an annoying Japanese pop group that keeps changing members (I think it's been eight times they've held new auditions). So this would be a promotional thing for the fifth-generation people.

Okay, yeah, I don't get it either, but it's fun to watch them scream.

They never actually showed the announcers, but they sounded like the comedy group Downtown, which hosts the show Hey! Hey! Hey! Music Champ. They have singers on, sit and talk, have them sing, then sometimes get them to do really weird stunts, exactly like what was shown in that video. The voices were really familiar, so I'm guessing that might be what it was from.

*sigh* I miss Hey! Hey! Hey! They used to show it on the International Channel, but ever since they switched to AZN Television, they don't have the block of Japanese shows on Sunday evenings (NHK news, random drama, Hey! Hey! Hey!, then raw or subbed anime). They also show anime dubbed in English rather than subbed or raw now, unfortunately. :(
