Yeah, that's a pretty awesome tutorial.
Basically, you may a set like you make other graphics. Just check the user manual of your program and get tips and tricks on it.

There was a book I got from the library a while back with tricks for Photoshop. It was pretty awesome. If I can remember the title, I'll post it here. :)
